HP Pavilion Laptop dead?

I was working with the laptop until suddenly a loud beeping noise started - the mouse froze and I could not give any comands. It might have been that my little one year old had left some waterdrops on the mousepad. Than the computer shut down ( I do not knowweather due to my pushing buttons ) and stopped - but never turned a light on since. Any suggestions welcome

It may be a low battery warning and it shut down as soon as possible so as not to lose any information. Try running it with the charger plugged in to AC.

Try unplugging laptop and take the battery out. Put battery back in and plug back in. If that doesn't work It would recommend taking it to a professional. The good news is that your data on your hard drive should be okay.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 and the fan has started making noises

Its possible but it would require taking out all the screws from the bottom of the latop, taking out the keyboard and the screws from the top cover. Then disconnecting the ribbon for the mouse pad and any other plugs coming from the top cover. After you take off the top cover you'll expose where the fan is at and at that point you can clean it off. If it still makes weird sounds then the fan would need to be replaced.

Loud noise from speakers when laptop closed/standby

Hi there.
Your microphone is on, and when you close the lid it is closer to the speaker. It needs
a loud noise (like closing the lid faster) and it enters into a feedback loop.
We need to find a way to make the microphone not play back.
Try left clicking on the speaker icon in the bottom right of the screen, and click playback
options. Here mute the microphone, and see if it solves your problem.

Good luck

Try running a good registry cleaner like Glary Utilities or Advanced Widowsystems. That should help. Also try checking for driver updates on Dell site.

One long beep, two shorter beeps - HP laptop will not start up

Hi...
I had the same problem...
The solution is only temporary and you will have to reapply it after around 5 to 6 boots cuz it'll just happen again (the beep syndrome).

Just heat up the laptop by turning it on and covering its air vents with your hands.

Then after you hear the beeps turn it off.
Turn the laptop on again and immediately turn it over upside down with the lid closed ofcoarse (simply put it on its back).Hopefully you wont hear the beeps and when you open up the laptop lcd...voila display.
