Question about Facebook Social Network

My brother passed away about 3 weeks ago, and my mother and I are trying to delete his facebook page. We do not have the password to his account, so we have no way of discarding it. We have the death certificate which we can fax or mail. Please let me know if there is a way to move forward and delete his facebook page.

I'm sorry about your brother. Unfortunately the only thing that you can do without a password is contact Facebook directly and let them know.

You should be able to contact facebook. At the bottom, or top of their facebook page there should be a contact button. Call them or email them with your situation they should be able to help. I know someone who's 11 year old daughter had a facebook and wouldn't give them her login info. She contacted facebook and they took care of it for her

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Hi I need to delete my facebook iam going out of the country for 3 months

I tried myself a few years ago to delete my FB account and after trying a lot of ways to cancel it, even contact them to close it - no success!
So, I just ignore it and never used it again. Years after I decided to go back on FB, and there it was - but forgot my password. After a hazzle to got my old password, I opened a new FB account. So, the old one still exists.
I do not know if FB really close any accounts of people asking them, and that makes me wonder what about people that passed away that was on FB? Will their accounts be there forever?

How do I delete fb accounts that are fake..shows I have 4 accounts...but I should only have one account

Unless you know the password for each account and can log in to "delete" the account, you pretty much have no way to do it. When my mother passed away, she had a facebook page that I wanted to delete. I had to send her DEATH CERTIFICATE to Facebook before they'd delete it. So... I'm thinking you could contact them and tell them that someone else has created a "fraudulent" account in your name, and I believe that's against their "rules". Either way, you should call them with your concerns. Try these options:

I seem to have 2 Facebook accounts. My password will not let me log in - how to cancel one account please??

There is no permanent deletion of any Facebook account. The ONLY option you have is to "deactivate" your account, but no matter how much time passes NOTHING will be deleted. All it takes to bring back your entire account and EVERY association, no matter how remote, is to log into Facebook using that account's email and password just as you left them.

Once you make a Facebook account, you are stuck with that account until the end of time.

To drive these factual points home, I did exactly what I described above to my account, which had previously been dormant for more than two years. Attached are screenshots showing said process in a sequential manner.

The only glimmer of hope you have in lieu of "permanent deletion" lies in the tedious and intentionally difficult process of deleting your posts, pictures, friends, pages, and the kitchen sink one-by-one, with each item deleted requiring a minimum of three left-clicks.

I closed my account with Facebook bout two years ago. But my partner managed to get into my old pics friends and any thing on there .why if it was closed. Please delete everything.

the data is never deleted from their ( Facebooks) servers, so
it can be accessed if the password is known.
I would suggest that you change your pass words to your email accounts first and then sign in to your Facebook account and change
your pass word to something long and unusual

AND DO NOT SHARE YOUR PASSWORD !!!!!!!!!!!

Facebook password problems

Some users decide to close or deactivate their Facebook accounts when they get tired of the social networking site.

Facebook automatically stores the data for closed and deactivated accounts so that users can reopen them again easily if they have a change of heart.

If you previously closed or deactivated your Facebook account but now want to reopen it, you can easily reactivate the account by logging in with your old username and password.

Launch your Web browser, and navigate to Facebook.com.

Type your username into the relevant input field on the Facebook login page. The username is the email address that you used when you first registered the account.

Type your password into the relevant input field.
Enter the password carefully, because Facebook uses case-sensitive passwords.

Click the "Login" button.
This will open and reactivate your Facebook account.

You can access your Facebook friends list and all previously uploaded data, including status updates, notes, photos and videos.

How do I cancel my facebook account please?

Okay follow these steps and you should be fine.

Go here:
http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account

Click "Submit" and follow the instructions.

Your account will be deactivated for two weeks, and if you DO NOT USE FACEBOOK IN ANY WAY during that period, your account is permanently deleted.

I REPEAT: Your profile isn't deleted right away! You must NOT log in to, or interact in any other way with Facebook for at least two weeks, as it will cancel the deletion request. That includes NOT logging in to Facebook using any client (like the iPhone app or IM:s like Pidgin), NOT clicking embedded Like-buttons on other websites, NOT logging in to other services using Facebook Connect (like Digg) etc.

Based on many success stories, I know for a fact that it works. The crucial step is to not use your Facebook account for 14 days after you've requested deletion. Only the slightest interaction with Facebook and the deletion is cancelled!

Good luck!
EJ
