It could be painted, but with the prep, time and paint, I think I new one would be much easier adn more sanitary.. I don't like the plastic ones as well as the painted wood, but they don't have a finsih that scratches and fails. I buy the new one for the guest bathroom, and move that one to whatever other bathroom has one that's getting unsightly.

Where can I purchase a new Kohler 85330-cp-17 Teal replacement molded wood elongated toilet seat for our existing toilet?

You cannot. As you state, it is discontinued, confirmed on Kohler site.

If color is really important, consider painting it or a new replacement using an appliance epoxy spray paint such as Rust-Oleum after careful preparation of the surfaces.

How do I fix a toilet that is leaking around the bottom

The toilet is seated in a wax ring when installed. Over time, the seal can deteriorate. The usual solution is to remove the toilet and the wax ring and replace the ring with a new one. The toilet should be reinstalled using care to ensure that it presses down on the wax ring evenly and forms a tight seal

My toilet wont flush just keeps running

The flapper valve may have deteriorated with age. If it doesn't seat after the toilet is flushed, the tank won't refill and water will continue to flow.

The toilet seat looks terrible on the underside and on the top it has the worn look. The price of over $400.00 to replace it is crazy. Is there a way of painting , cleaning up or should I buy a a new...

You should be able to remove an old worn out, toilet seat and replace. Usually its two Plastic Toilet Seat Bolts and two plastic wing nuts under the bowl. Most of them are hidden in a Plastic Cap where the seat attaches to the Toilet Base. You unsnap the caps to see the bolts. Make sure to hold the Wing Nuts underneath or they might just spin.

If its a matter of cleaning something because of neglect. I have recently started using new products that I purchased from www.ChristineFrey.Norwex.biz with great success!

I clean the entire bath room with three products and water!toilet-seat-looks-terrible-underside-2a0cfbtak4y3luwyen1qnfe3-5-0.jpg
Dirty to Clean its simple fast and effective.

The products are: my EnviroCloth, Blue Diamond Cleaner and my toilet brush. If you are like me, I never heard of any of this until I saw a demonstration November 2014 by this person who's website I posted above in this response.

The paint on the forward side of the toilet seat has the paint wearing off, quickly! the paint seams soft and can be rubbed right off What would be eating away the paint. It is a fairly new seat...

I have been a plumber for over 30 years. My advice is to throw that seat away
and buy a new seat made by "Bemis". They are the best I have ever seen.

Hope this helps.

What is the procedure for replacing the flush valve assy on a san raphael toilet. it is a one piece tank and bowl assy and must install from the inside of the tank. it appears to possibly rotate into place...

If you purchase the flush valve from Kohler, it comes without instruction. Rotation is the key to removal. First note the exact orientation of the assembly before attempting removal. Unhook the flapper chain and remove the flapper. The old assembly does indeed rotate in either direction for removal. I used a counterclockwise motion. (it was a tough turn, don't break the bottom of the bowl where the valve seat is located.) Then install the new foam gasket on the assembly. The new assembly is replaced in the reverse manner. I removed the new flapper from the flush valve for ease of install. You must put significant downward pressure on the flapper seat while rotation is accomplished. Orient the assembly as was the old one. Replace the flapper, connect the chain and observe the flapper for proper opperation.

Describe your Eljer &

I have not heard of any toilet manufacturers offering a lifetime guarantee (except maybe for defects in manufacturing), especially since flappers tend to deteriorate with exposure to chlorinated water, fill valves eventually fail, and toilet seats do break. Pick out a replacement that suits your fancy, unbolt the old one from below, and install the new one. Don't overtighten as the porcelain could break.
