While your system is still booting from start, keep hitting F11 to get past that point then proceed with the system recovery.

How do i reinstall windows?

Depends on whether your system came preinstalled or with a os installation disk. If preinstalled you'll have to do a full system recovery from the start up menu. When starting up hit f11 and that will take you to the recovery screen. If disk is available put it in the cd/dvd drive and restart the system. follow the onscreen instructions from there.

My computer wont boot it says ntldr is missing what do i do

Reinstall Windows. If you have a computer with a recovery partition you can do it that way. You will have to hit a function key f10, f11, f1, etc. depending on which system you have. If you don't have a recovery partition then you will have to install your operating system from your recovery disks or your Windows cd. Unfortunately your data and programs are lost. If you have disks for your programs you can restore them. If you have backups of your data, you will be able to recover that also. Good luck and let me know if you have any further questions.

Okay was told to hit F11 to do a system recovery

Try alt f11 or f9 or alt f9, if this fails google your machines model and brand and accessing the recovery partition, you should easily find it.

Can you see the boot up CMOS display with HP Logo? If so plug a USB external keyboard and press F11 while boot up process. Then it will prompt for Recovery loading.

Possible causes of the problem:
- Corrupted boot.ini of the operating system

Restoreing to factory settings

You will need to reinstall the OS (operating system) by using the disk that came with your system, it may be called a restore disk or operating system, and their may be more than one disk!

Want to reset to Factory Default

with HP the recovery console activation should just be F11 without the CTRL.

If your recovery partition does not work, or is corrupt/missing then your best bet is to either order the recovery discs or take it to a local tech that may have access to OEM discs that can be used with the license key on the machine to reinstall the operating system.

Dell Latitude D620 Full System Recovery?

It's easy to miss the point at which you hit Ctrl + F11. You need to hit Ctrl + F11 at the point you see the blue bar across the top of the screen, it will display If this is still not working you can use the XP operating system CD to reinstall XP and the Dell drivers CD to reinstall the sound, video, network and other drivers. If Dell didn't send you the operating system CD, you should contact them.
