Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I'm reposting this problem from a few weeks ago; the tech response at that time is a non-starter (e.g. look for a fuse cap...which does not exist). Here's the problem: HP PSC 750 All-in-one Printer seems to be "dead". A recent power blip shut down some...but not all...electronic devices connected to my PC very briefly. (The PC itself appears not to have been affected.) All indicator lights are 'off' on the PSC 750, pressing the 'on' button does nothing. I've unplugged and re-plugged the power cable and USB cable on the back of the unit, and still nothing. Is there a simple way to determine if this machine is really toast and ready for the scrap pile, or is it perhaps in a coma and there is a "re-awakening" solution? Thanks.

Yep, pretty much my assessment as well. Thanks, Lee.

The only thing you can check is the external power supply for 18 vdc with a voltmeter/multimeter. Other then that given the age of the printer and the price for a comparable replacement your best bet is to just replace it.
Thank you and good luck,

How do I check starter? Solenoid clicks when switch turned and lights come on but starter will not turn or engage.

If you have a volt-ohm meter check the voltage at the starter connection when the key is turned. If there is voltage at the cable then check to the post on the starter. The cable could be corroded and not connecting. Check with the OHM meter from the starter post to the ground. If this is an open circuit then tap the starter a few times with a mallet with the key turned to start. If it responds then the starter may be near worn out. If there is no response then the starter is likely bad.

Nissan Altima 2000 Manual. Recently had remote starter installed and was working fine for a few days. This morning I remote started the vehicle and when I came out car was off. Try starting the car up...

the remote starter is not going to damage the starter, but if wired wrong it could damage the wiring or fuses, or run the battery down from a short.

Vmax battery is good but when starter is pushed the oil light comes on as well as head light but does nothing else, indicators etc work. the bike was working 4 weeks ago

Check your fuse box for dirty connections or corrosion around the fuses. Check the engine cut off switch (rock it back and forth a few times), side stand safety switch of so equipped, clean the battery terminals and cables.

Starting problem

Hello LostLynne.
The most common issue is a bad contact in the starter solenoid.
This solenoid is part of the starter assembly and makes the high amperage battery to starter connection
When you hear the click the solenoid is activating but not completing the battery to starter contact.
If this is an original starter or been on for a long time I would suggest changing the starter assembly.
Also in your under hood fuse/relay panel there is a smaller relay that activates the starter solenoid that should be checked before replacing the starter. Although less common for that to happen it does occasionally cause a problem. Easy to replace too.
If you have further questions please ask me.

I can not find the neutral safety switch on a 2000 buick park ave

Any chance your vehicles have a security/alarm system. Disconnecting battery on some, will arm it sometimes & not allow it to run. Using key to unlock door, on driver & passenger side have been known to work on some vehicles, but if not, a call to dealer should help.

2007 FORD SPORTS TRAC BATTERY KEEPS DYING

180 milli-amps is way to much draw, ford's limit is 50 milli-amps but typically we usually only see around 20-30. Now when you say fuse 2 is that in the under-hood fuse panel or the interior fuse panel? And if this vehicle is a 2007 it may still be under factory warranty which was 36 months or 36000 miles providing that the add on automatic starter is not causing your draw.Which in that case the people who installed it should be responsible for that.

send it back in to Audiovox... RCA's tech support. Go to the RCA website, and find the Opal series, and go to Contact Us. Mine quit working all together a few weeks back, and I just sent it in and got a brand new one in the mail a few weeks later. Just beware: their "24 hour" response time is b.s., i didn't get a reply for 2 weeks on email. I never got a response when I tried calling.

Good Luck
