Corona Wire of a Laser printer is inside the Drum, means you have to disassemble the drum and clean the Corona wire. It looks like a band with golden color (if cleaned), stretching from end to end of the drum compartment (you can only see it after you remove the drum tube), take a look at the below picture as reference:
Konica Minolta prints with stripes - 93006c7.jpg

You can use soft brush or Cotton to clean it.

Good luck

Hi. I searched over the internet to find the exact model on where the corona is located and how to clean it. Instead, i came accross with Brother homepage. All printer units might fall the same. Please click here.

corona wire is inside the DRUM unit. all you need to look is a tab that you can slide from left to right. to open the DRUM.

It might not be the corona that is having the problem. You mentioned that you are getting stripes when printing a document. Is that a black stripes or white stripes? Vertical stripes or horizontal? how thick are the stripes? By answering these questions, we might provide you a better solution other than focusing the corona.

    All the best!

Carona wire is a electrically charged wire in a laser printer that pulls toner from the drum onto the paper.

Hi its better to clean the print head first please follow these steps:Clogged printer print heads can be a real problem when it comes to getting a quality printed page. Your image quality can end up being lousy, and while this may not be as critical if you're simply printing something to read that you will toss when you're done, if you're printing a paper for a class, or a manuscript to send out to a publisher, it just won't do. Fortunately cleaning your laser printer's print heads is not too difficult. The Self-Cleaning Utility Program

Step 1.Click on the Start button if you have Windows XP. If you have Windows Vista, click the Windows icon that resides in the lower left corner of your computer screen.

Step 2.Click on "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware." Finally click on "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers."

Step 3.Right-click on the name of your printer and choose "Printing Preferences." This should open a new window; next look for a tab or button marked Maintenance, or something similar.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 28, 2010

Find the button that says "Print heads" or "Clean the Print heads" and click on it. You may be asked to choose which print heads; choose them all if you are. Make sure there is paper and ink in your printer, and that it is turned on ahead of time.

Step 5Take out the page your printer has printed and see if there are any grids or boxes missing. If there aren't, then you can just exit the program--your print heads are not clogged. If there are grids missing, then click on the "Cleaning" or similarly worded button.

Step 6Once the cleaning process has completed, print another page to be sure that your print heads are no longer clogged. If they are still clogged, repeat Steps 1-5 until your printer is printing clearly.
    Other Options to Try

Step 1Let the printer sit overnight after running the self-cleaning utility and then print something to see if your initial try with the self-cleaning utility just needed a few hours to work, as this is sometimes the case.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 28, 2010

Remove your printer cartridge. If your print heads are on your printer cartridge rather than inside your printer, soak your printer cartridge in hot water overnight. Dry it off the next morning, and then put it back in your printer and run the self-cleaning utility again.

Step 3Remove your printer cartridge. If your print heads are inside your printer, take a Q-tip and dip it in warm water. Run the Q-tip over the print heads to loosen and remove any dried ink from them. Put the cartridge back, and run the self-cleaning utility again. This should unclog your print heads.

Step 4Remove the printer cartridge. If your print heads are inside your printer, take an eyedropper and put 7 to 10 drops of isopropyl alcohol inside the area where the ink receptacle is and where the ink flows from the cartridge to the print heads. Wait overnight and then put the cartridge back in and run the self-cleaning utility again.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 28, 2010

Remove the printer cartridge. If your print heads are on your cartridge, spray a paper towel with a household cleaner and wipe it gently over the print heads on your cartridge. Pat the cartridge dry and then put the cartridge back in your printer and run the self-cleaning utility again.

Laser printers play an important role in typical computer hardware configurations, allowing users to create countless pages of crisp, clean documents. Unfortunately, many computer enthusiasts neglect to perform routine maintenance on their laser printers, concentrating instead on other key components, such as hard drives. Cleaning a laser printer is a relatively quick and easy task, even for novice computer owners, and can extend the lifetime of this valuable piece of equipment. This maintenance should be performed at least once every 90 days.
    What You Will Need
Many manufacturers sell special kits containing all the tools required to properly clean a laser printer. People on a budget can easily clean their laser printers using common household items. The following items are required to complete this task: isopropyl alcohol; soft, lint-free cloths; small brush; cotton swabs; can of compressed air; latex or nitrile gloves; face mask and several sheets of newspaper. While not essential, a small toner vacuum may also be helpful.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 28, 2010

    Identify Key Components
Identify each key part of the laser printer by using your owner's manual. There are four major parts of a laser printer that require cleaning: the corona wires, paper feed rollers, fan vent and external casing. The owner's manual should include specific instructions for cleaning the interior and exterior of your laser printer.
    Preparation
Begin by turning off any fans and closing vents to minimize air traffic in the room and prevent toner particles from becoming airborne. Wear a facial mask capable of screening fine particles to protect your respiratory system. Protective gloves will guard your hands from being stained by toner. Toner spills can be difficult to clean, so spread a generous amount of newspaper under the unit to protect your work surface. Unplug the unit before starting work, and ensure that the laser printer's internal parts are cool to the touch.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 28, 2010

    Cleaning the Interior
Remove the paper tray and toner cartridge so that you can access all key internal components. Many printers have corona wires that transfer a static charge to paper to attract toner. Corona wires should be cleaned very gently using a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Be careful not to damage these wires because they are very expensive to replace. Cotton swabs dipped in alcohol should also be used to clean paper feed rollers. Use a small, dry brush to remove loose particles from other parts of the interior. Vacuum these particles or wipe them away using a damp cloth. Fan vents should be cleared of dirt and debris using puffs of compressed air.
    Cleaning the Exterior
After replacing the paper tray and toner cartridge, you are now ready to clean the machine's exterior. A soft, damp cloth is usually sufficient to clean the outside of your laser printer. If you decide to use a commercial cleaner for electronics, be careful not to get any of this substance inside of the printer.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 28, 2010

I hope the solution work, let me know it does.

  • Hilton Bristol Jul 29, 2010

Hi i give the you best option but i don't if follow my advise, you say you want the information about where to find the corona wires, here is the information how to access the corona wire.

What problems are you having. If it prints stripes, then the heads need to be cleaned. Many printers have a self-cleaning diagnostic utility that will do it itself. Otherwise you can purchase a head cleaning kit.

My Pitney Bowes 9023 copier is printing the paper completely black. What is the most likely cause of this and where can I find a repair manual?

I know alot about konica minolta copiers and i would probably start by checking the drum and developer units. If it has carona wires, try cleaning them. Try cleaning the inside of the unit, be careful around sensors. If that helps with the copies then you probably just have a lot cleaning to do. Its most likley time for a pm. How many copies are on it?

Make sure that the corona wire is clean (use a dry bristle haired artists paint brush or use the cleaning pad supplied with the printer) and making sure that the toner cart cleaner / scraper is not clogged or has some paper jammed on it. Also you can vacuum the Corona Wire with a domestic vac and the nozzle tool or a clean soft brush tool but make sure the printer is turned off before doing it.
