The manual is found here:

http://web.archive.org/web/20061021081020/http://www.gardnerbender.com/Products/Product_Manuals/PDF/analog_multimeters/GMT_12A.pdf

The battery is accessed by removing the screw on the back of the meter and carefully removing the cover. However, the back cover appears to remain attached, even after removing the screw. The trick is to squeeze both ends to release the two internal catches after the screw is removed. The cover then will easily pop off.

Can't get a accurate impeadance reading for my speakers using gmt 312

When you use a standard multimeter you are not measuring the impedance but the DC resistance, which is not the same. The DC resistance is typically lower than the impedance.
For measuring the impedance you need at least a sinewave signal generator and an amplifier.
If you are still interested, you can find good information here:

I hope this helps.

Nuvi is dead, it will not turn on, even when plugged in.

The battery may be fully discharged. Once the battery has fallen belowa certain level, it will not be possible to recharge via the caradapter. Instead, the GPS should be connected via USB cable to acomputer for 8 or more hours to charge the battery. Disregard anymissing driver messages, as the computer will provide the voltagerequired to charge (regardless of drivers present or not).

Oncecharged, the car charger should be able to keep the battery charged -unless allowed to become fully discharged again. Repeat USB charging asneeded.

Oct 06, 2009 | Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Is it normal for my Garmin Nuvi 756T battery to go flat after only 30 minutes?

No. You can expect up to 4 hours of use - depending on the battery's state of charge, level of back lighting, use of Bluetooth or playing MP3s - all of which reduce battery life.

Try fully charging the battery overnight via USB cable to a computer. This will fully charge the battery, and afterwards, the car charger should keep the battery fully charged - provided you do not allow it to fully discharge. If it does, the car charger may not be able to charge the battery until it is charged via USB again.

I have garmin nuvi 750 my battery is dead. How do

Are you sure it's dead? Often times, if the battery is allowed to become completely depleted, it will not accept a charge via cigar charger. Connect the GPS overnight to your computer via the USB cable, then see if the battery took the charge. If by chance the battery will no longer accept a charge, contact Garmin Customer Support below:

Disregard any missing driver messages, as the computer will provide the voltage required to charge (regardless of drivers present or not).
