I have put a blade in my Mastercraft reciprocating saw. It keeps popping out. It is the long blade for wood. The shorter one stays in. What is going on?

The mounting heel of the blade has to be the same style and you have o ensure the blade is firmly inserted deep within the blade holder.

Blackanddecker typye 2 recip-saw handi saw cordless ,blade wont stay locked in while cutting keeps poping out worthless to use as soon as u put presure on it pops right out

There is a small ball inside the chuck that sometimes gets stuck on these quick release chucks. Check and see if it is still in there and if it is see if it is stuck. If it is just put a drop of oil on it and keep working it. It will loosen up and you will be back in operation.

How much water do I put in the reservoir?

The rule of thumb here is to have enough water so that the blade picks it up, cooling the blade, but not so much that it floods the machine. If you lift up the grate, you may see an overflow tube that keeps you from having too much water in the sump. If you don't have an overflow tube, then turn on the saw and add water until the blade picks it up, plus a little more. When you notice that the spray of water is diminished, add more water.

Blade popping off front wheel

Is the axle tight? Has the tool been dropped to warp the frame? But a quick fix if everything else is OK is to loosen up the axle and put a THIN metal shim on the backside of the axle and then tightening it back down.

Blade won't lock.

There is a ball lock in it and you have to twist the ball lock but if the ball lock is frozen generally WD40 will help unfreeze it and work it until the ball is free and should work just fine.
