CPU fan and chasis fan runs at twice the regular speed of 2k rpm and 1k rpm respectively. The cpu temperature is normal and pc is in a cold environment. This seems to happen more when I watch online...

It is absolutely normal, CPU fan RPM can go as far as 3500 Rpm and Chassis fan as far as 2000Rpm. Best to have a cool PC, if you would like you can take a look at my tip entitled My Computer is not turning on!!! Is it dead!!! No POST!!! it explains every-thing.

I HAVE A SOCKET 370 MOTHERBOARD WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE AND THE FCPGA VS FCPGA2? AND HOW DO YOU KNOW WITCH TYPE WILL WORK ON THE MOTHERBOARD THANKS COOL KID

Intel Pentium III and Celeron CPUs less than 1001 Mhz were FC-PGA.
Intel Pentium III and Celeron CPUs more than 1200 Mhz were FC-PGA-2.

However, Intel made CPUs in the 1000 to 1200 range that were FC-PGA
*AND* Intel made CPUs in the 1000 to 1200 range that were FC-PGA2.

So, all FC-PGA CPUs will work in almost every Socket 370 motherboard,
but all FC-PGA-2 CPUs require a motherboard that supports FC-PGA-2 CPUs.

I am unable to install hunting unlimited 4.Is it vista compatable?

It seems that Hunting unlimited 4 is only for systems up to Windows XP....
Try installing the game in compatability mode...might work...
explore the game cd
look for the setup.exe or install.exe
right click and view properties
look for the compatability tab
under compatability click the box that says run this program in compatability mode ....make sure you choose windows xp then ok the window
now double click on the exe file that you´ve just changed and see if that works

Fan on

The CPU fan on the GX280 is a variable speed fan. It only runs as fast as necessary to keep the CPU cool. But the fan also has an rpm sensor built in that regulates it at 3000 rpm. If the sensor is going bad, it senses its running slower than 3000 rpm when its actually running faster and continues to speed up until its wide open. Thus the 'jet engine' sound. Replace the fan and that should do it. If by chance it doesn't, it gets more serious and likely a motherboard problem.

Subject: 1974 Rover P6 3500 V8 Auto. After a few months lay up and after getting the car started, we noticed the oil pressure warning light was on and the pressure gauge was at zero. Is this a failure...

Hi,

In most engines, the oil pressure warning lights works in conjunction with the pressure gauge both of which detects the oil pressure circulating inside the engine. The pressure is brought about buy an oil pump which drives the oil around. Therefore, the light going on and/or the gauge reading zero indicates that either:
1. there is very little or no oil inside the engine; or
2. the oil pump is not working.

Another possibility is that the oil is too thick for the pump to work on.

All of the above has to be corrected prior to turning your engine.

It would be very rare for both the oil pressure sensor (that activates the light) and the oil pressure gauge to be defective simultaneously.

To my understanding, most if not all Rover V8 engines have an external/mechanical oil pump that is mounted on the front cover, the base of which carries the oil pressure relief valve and oil filter. This page has information about Rover's oil pump.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
