I don't know why I bother to keep answering this question, since those who bother to rate my answer tend to rate it as if they hold me personally responsible for the design of the camera. But here goes. The ViviCam does not record any sound to go with its videos. You can use video-editing software on a computer to add a soundtrack, but you can't record one on the camera.
and why not? who wants to watch a home video with no sound????????? ummm, hello? babies first words... songs, school events, graduation.... thats what these damned things are used for. am i right???? what is even the point of spending our hard earned money on this product if it doesnt even meet the customers needs or requirements?????? i think Vivitar should fix this faux pau if they want to continue to sell their products................ it absolutely pointless to have if the features arent there, just saying.....!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you fully. But keep in mind that the camera is intended as a still camera first. The video features (such as they are) have been grafted on because it could be done without any additional hardware. A microphone, on the other hand, would drive up the cost. And Vivitar does make camcorders for those who want a video camera first and a still camera second.
