When you push that power button it draws power from a 12volt constant and sends it to the acc on the deck witch tells it to turn on and off! this acc may be shared with the ing acc. now the only way that it could start your engine is if this acc is grounding out to stater, ing, acc wires etc, remote car starter involed?

Yep, you'll see a Play/Pause button. Just press that until it says DX Seek (or Seek if you want to skip over stations that are slightly farther away). Then press your tune buttons! If it still doesn't work while in DX or DX Seek mode, then hold the tune button for a second. It'll beep and start scanning to the next one!

You need to visit Alpines' site to download the owner's manual for your unit. In the mean time here is some info from the troubleshooting guide for your error code.

• Mechanism error.
1. Press the "eject" button and eject the CD.
If not ejecting, consult your Alpine dealer.
2. When the error indication remains after ejecting,
press the "eject" button again.
If the error indication still does not turn off after
pressing the "eject" button for a few times, consult your
Alpine dealer.
Note
When the "- - - E" is displayed:
In case that the disc cannot be ejected by pressing the "eject"
button, press the RESET switch (refer to page 4) and
press the "eject" button again.
If not ejecting, consult your Alpine dealer.

Good luck.
