Unit will work on 120 volts instead of 240, vent will work from old dryer 4 inch in size the gas hook up is where you need the gas company to come and run the gas lines and regulator and the tank for the gas

I have a imperial whirlpool dryer. I thought it was electric, it has gas hook up and a electric plug as well , can it be bothZ?

Yes, it will be both. A straight electrical dryer is hooked up to 220 volts of electricity and uses that voltage to run both the motor and the heater. In a gas dryer, you only need 120 volts to run the motor and run the igniter for the gas, which provides the heat to dry your clothes. Hope this helps!

Moved to new house and it's not a gas hook up just electric

You will have to replace the dryer with a electric one or have your local gas company install tank and run lines for you unless there's natural gas line where you live which you will need the city come and run a line or a qualified gas technician come do it but this will be costly. I would recommend buying a good quality used one or a new one it would be cheaper. Also since the gas prices have been sky high on propane and NG allot of people have switched to electric over the last two years and most appliance company's even mine wont trade or give anything for it just a fyi but good luck and hope this helps.

Just hooked up outlet. Dryer tumbles, wont heat. Have I wired the outlet wrong?

Hi, Did you put red and black wire to the outer posts? White wire ti center and green to ground screw on cabinet? Dry will run on 120V but needs 240V for heat. Make sure there is 240V to the outlet as well.
Hope this helps. If so, please feel free to rate my answer so that I know how I am doing.

Sell the dryer and get an electric one. Conversion is not possible. Be advised that electric dryers run on 220 volts and require a special plug. hope this helps!
