My motorola sx800 goes on but when you push the talk button to communicate it always goes the same way like how you turn it on first. so i hope i can get some answers for my motorola walkie talkie.

It sounds like a bad, defective, or low battery. It takes more energy to transmit than to receive, or to be idle on standby. Pressing the PTT button to transmit with a low or bad battery would cause the radio to shut down or nearly shut down.

Try another battery pack in your radio or swap batteries with a known good unit to confirm the battery is the problem.

Other problems might include the battery being poorly charged. Check your charger. Or you could have an overall problem with the radio itself. This is a non-repairable unit, so if it is the radio you would need to retire it.

Clean all your battery contacts with a pencil eraser to make certain of a good connection.

Best regards.

Were can i find software for 448 xtn motorola radios?

Hello Harry,

I checked the manual for this 2 way radio, and I don't think there is anything like "software" in this context.

The firmware has been hardcoded to the hardware itself.

If you could explain your issue in detail, perhaps I can be of some help.

You can refer to this manual if you want: http://www.scribd.com/doc/15685467/Motorola-Xtn-Series-Userguide

If that's not the problem, then let me know. I'll be glad to help you out.

Please rate this solution if it helps you.

I have a two way motorola sx800r. I bought 5 sets of the radios. I can hear from any radio. But only one radio will transmit to the rest of them. It has to be a setting. I just don't know which one. All...

We could not immediately find a manual for the SX800, but here is a link to the SX700 which is very similar. http://www.giantintl.com/ContentManage/manuals/Moto/SX700.pdf

With the radio unlocked: You should check your Qt filter to see that it is also programmed the same. It is recommended you use it in the off or minus position for best communications. If this does not solve the problem, try setting all the radios back to the basic Channel 1, Code off, Qt off, position and see if they will work together. Shut off any special features such as vibra call and call alert, as these when not used correctly can also cause issues with inexperienced users.

If this does not solve the problem. Lastly, check your chargers and batteries. Clean battery contacts with a pencil eraser. Trade batteries from the known good unit into one of the others to see if it solves the problem.

I just bought a used Motorola SX800R Walkie Talkie set, no manual

I went to the manufacturers website and do not see a manual posted for the SX800. However, they did have for the 600, 700 and 900. One of them should be very similar to yours here are the links:
