Question about Cameras
Without knowing the model I can't tell if there is a reset switch (not common). The easiest thing to do is to simply remove the battery. This won't hurt it.
What you need to check is if the problem causng this is the switch or just a one time thing. Like any other electronics if it gets hot, or bumped, or gets a static shock it can lock up. sometimes its just a software issue that can be fixed with an update or by simply restarting the camera. Any pictures should be safe on the memory card so keep on using it to see if it is a problem or just a one time issue.
