Listen to see if the lift motor is working properly...if it doesn't lift the paper then the machine will think there is no paper installed in the paper tray. The lift motor will need to be replaced if this is the issue.
yep! e2-02 means there is a machine error of lifting motor assembly for tray #2. For sure this time you can't use your tray #2. you may check it sometimes there's just a paper clogged at the rear of the paper tray. just remove your 2nd tray to see if there is a paper clogged inside. Otherwise the cover/case of the lifting motor is damaged and you will need a service technician to fix and replace it. :)

Had same problem. Downloaded Standard GDI printer driver from http://www.bayshoreoffice.com/drivers/ dated April 11 2007 and overwrote old driver with the updated one (ver4.2 I think) and printing to DP-1829E was restored. Strangely PCL printing won't work at all!
