Question about Tools & Hardware - Others

1 Answer

I have borrowed a Max Clipped Head Stack Nailer (SN90Ch34). I promised to oil it before each use. What oil should I use? I am in rural Iowa and have access to Bomgaars, Walmart, Ace Hardware and standard gas stations, so I am hoping some standard oil will do. Thanks

Any light machine oil will work even 3-in-1 oil will work if your not doing mass production nailing. If you have to buy nails for the gun, where ever you buy them should have oil for nail guns. A detergent oil will cause problems so stay away from detergent motor oil.

Sears Framing Nailer #351-18320. It takes clipped head, 28 degress, paper held nails. I need replacement nails. Who made this nail gun for SEARS and where can I buy nails.

I have seen several of these guns in the shop. I have used both Bostitch and Max parts to repair. Try using nails made for duofast cn325, or bostitch n80. Both use a 28degree paper tape clip head hails. Good luck

I have a dewalt framing nailer that will operate with a max pressure of 120psi. I have been using it for 2 weeks with 100psi. Now the piston will not return after shooting the first nail, unless I adjust...

Your gun should work in the 90-120 psi range to get a consistant drive depth and with a few drops, 5-6 or a small squirt, of oil at the start of work and a few more in the afternoon if you are using it a lot. It is possible to use too much oil, if you over oil it and the bottom of the cylinder chamber gets full of oil or other gunk attracted to the oil it can get high enough to interfear with the return function. Also if you are using something other than pneumatic nail gun oil it is possible some o-rings were damaged. Either way you have to remove the head cap and check the internal o-rings for damage and clean out anything in the cylinder and head chamber.

Senco sn901xo is leaking air out the top on the nailer.

This is a sign that internal components are sticking. Try spraying a light weight oil like wd 40 down the air inlet and dry firing the gun several times. If that does not work, pop off the top of the gun, that is your exhaust port. Clean the area with contact cleaner, and lube with air tool oil.

Hear air and feel air comming out where nails come out

Try oiling the nailer. Just put a few drops of air tool oil where the air hose connects and let it set for a little bit so the oil can`t run out and try it. Sounds like it is just running dry.

What is the angle of the nail we use with this nailer

if thats a hitachi nr90ad, then you should be using 30 degree paper taped clipped headed nails,, never use plastic or wire collated nails in that gun,, some boxes might say 30 up to 34 degree and thats fine, also in a lot of areas clipped headed nails are no longer code, so they made the nails full headed, the head is just off set,,

When the trigger is pulled the framing nailer discharges a little air but does not activate.

First, the obvious things -- Is there enough air pressure? (90 psi) Is the gun jammed? Has it been oiled recently? Usually it is one of these when that happens.
