Set the default Input/Output mode to LineIO.

Press [SHIFT][MODE] to access the (SETUP) screen. (see the screen capture below)

Select [2:LineIO].

If
you want still to use the MthIO but just want your results displayed in
decimal form press [SHIFT][=] or if the result is already displayed use
the [S=D] key to toggle between formats.

To convert a single result to decimal, press S--D. To have all results come out in decimal, press SHIFT MODE 2 to switch to the LineIO mode.

For converting answers in decimal to fraction or fraction to decimal there is a S<->D key above delete key.If the answers is in fractional form press this key and it will be converted to decimal form.

There are two options.

1) Whenever you want the answer in decimal form, place a decimal after at least one of the numbers.

For example: instead of using (1/2) use (1/2.)

2) Press the "Mode" button. Scroll down the list that appears until you find "Exact/Approx". If you set it to "Approximate", then it will always give the answer in decimal form. If you set it to "Exact", it will give the answer in fraction form.

You can convert between Standard Form (with fractions and pi) or
Decimal form by using the "S<->D" button. Use Mode 1 if you
mostly prefer fraction answers and you can use the SD button to convert
to decimal or use Mode 2 if you mostly prefer decimal answers and use
the SD button to see the fraction.

Hello,

Whenver you obtain a result in a fraction form or with a radical, just press [S<->D] to convert it to decimal. Pressing that key again will revert to the original form.
