Remove the sound card driver from your computer and then install it back after the computer restart. Check your volume settings and the volume slider on your laptop.

EMU 1616M sound card

Hi,
I know this is a longshot, so forgive me..
Hit F8 on booting up and go into the BIOS, and use the arrow keys to navigate to sound and check that the PCI (sound card) is checked and not the OS (onboard sound). Save to CMOS and Exit.
I know.. I know.. but sometimes it's as simple as that..
Let me know how you get on..

Sound problem

Go to your control panel and open it. than click on sound and audio devices. once the window opens it will say either no audio devices found or it will tell you the what the sound card is. If it does not tell you than you will need to download the driver for your sound card again. If you need any further help with this please let me know. I can get you your sound card driver if you can let me know what the make and model number is of the sound card.

PCI card not been detected via Windows.

the sound card is installed into the ISA slot not the PCI slot.
clear the cmos for a minute, set it normal again.
install the sound card to the ISA slot carefully - i mean a working sound card and couple the system unit and boot, surely you will have your sound card working.
