Garmin nuvi 270 shuts down when connecting to mac for map update

I've had exactly the same problem. Eventually I discovered it was the SD card. Take that out and it should work fine. You can re-insert the card once the Mac has found the device.

And one xl’s that i have tried,
First of all connect your tomtom to your computer.
making sure your online,Go to log on.
if you’ve not created an account create one now.
If you’ve had to create an account restart tomtom home.

You should have the tomtom home screen in front of you,
Now even if tomtom home is showing you logged in, ignore
this click your email adderss in the top right hand side of the screen
and log in again and click continue.
Then click Device/disconnect device.
Now your tomtom will update itself and your maps will be restored"

I heard that the new iPhone 5 does not include the Google Maps application, but instead uses Apple's new version? Is this correct?

Yes it is. Apple decided to replace one of its most useful applications, Google Maps with its own version, Apple Maps. Compared to Google Maps, Apple maps display much less information like certain street names, street directions, and subway stops. Moreover, Apple Maps does not have the street view feature that Google Maps has. It should be noted that Apple Maps is a brand new application and will certainly change for the better in time.

Wont power up

I'm willing to bet you have bad capacitors on the power supply board. Is there a clicking sound when you try and turn it on?? I've heard that Samsung is repairing the power supplies even if your warranty has expired. Give Samsung a call and see if they will take care of the problem

I keep getting a message on my tomtom one saying no map found. i`ve formatted the sd card many times but cant get map up. can you help please?

If your device is saying no maps found, what you need to do is to download new maps on the SD or on your device. That way your device should be able to read maps, or better still, you can reset your tom tom by using a paper clip, to press and hold the reset button.

Or you can hold the power button for about 15 seconds, that way the unit will restart, once it restarts, then you will be able to access your maps and other things on your device.

Hope this information helped you solve your problem.

My gps says "no

Question: What should I do if my Garmin nuvi or zumo displays the message "No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing" or "No Map Data Available?"
--> Answer: The "No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing" or "No Map Data Available" message may appear on your device for the following reasons:
  • The GPS device is missing it's unlock code
  • The maps on the GPS device have been disabled
To determine the cause of the message, touch the screen until the message "No Detailed Maps Found That Support Routing" disappears.
  • If you see a "Can't Unlock Maps" message following this error, remove any microSD / SD cards in the device and follow the instructions below for Retrieving your unlock codes followed by the instructions for Creating an unlock file
  • If you do not get the Can't Unlock Maps message then skip to the instructions for Enabling maps on the GPS device
Retrieving your unlock codes:
  1. Log into your myGarmin account
  2. Select Manage Maps
  3. Select Details
  4. The unlock code is located under the Installed Maps.

I,ve found my Arias 920A satnav is now obsolete, but cant find anyway to update it??can anyone help??

You can only update it(update the maps)if the company are offering them for your model. Go to their website to check. It doesnt sound hopeful tho if the model is obsolete. Some maps may work on more than one model so its worth checking. You won't find the maps anywhere else though.

No maps

You probably have a directory on your Storage Card called \Storage Card\My Documents\Map_Name

copy the Map_Name folder to the root of your Storage Card

so you have \Storage Card\Map_Name

restart TomTom and it should pick up the map back. if this didnt work then probably the card directory where the map is stored may corrupt or unreadable try reinstalling the map
at least this has worked in many tomtom one’s
And one xl’s that i have tried,
First of all connect your tomtom to your computer.
making sure your online,Go to log on.
if you’ve not created an account create one now.
If you’ve had to create an account restart tomtom home.

You should have the tomtom home screen in front of you,
Now even if tomtom home is showing you logged in, ignore
this click your email adderss in the top right hand side of the screen
and log in again and click continue.
Then click Device/disconnect device.
Now your tomtom will update itself and your maps will be restored
please let me Know if this has worked for you.hope this helps pls apprecite by rating as fixyaa thanks and Godbless
