Question about Televison & Video

2 Answers

I have a 42 inch Samsung Plasma (HPR-4252). When I power it on, the screen blinks on and off with a colorful random static on every input with no sound Furthermore nothing is shown on the tv through any input.. not even the volume bar at the bottom. I took it apart and I am fairly certain that the lower Y-Buffer board is bad, because a heat sync popped off of one of the buffers. My question is- Does this issue sound like a power supply problem also? (Im thinking bad capacitor because it is blinking and no picture will show) Also- Will replacing the Y upper and lower buffer along with the main buffer board fix the blinking? thanks!

Hello,
You can check for bulged capacitors, and for the buffer board , the Y upper and lower buffer you replace that also to give it a better performances to the television.
You can try websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy parts for the replacement.
Good luck in fixing your television.....

I have a Samsung Plasma 4252 and i have red horizontal lines running across the top section and lower sections of the screen. here is a couple images: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v490/rd1tib/1-1.jpg...

I have the same problem on my set. I had a repair technician out today and they wanted to replace the circuit board that the buffers are connected to and the adjacent board that drives the buffers. If you remove the back panel the buffers that are in line with the distorted areas on the screen are running super hot. Estimated price with labor was $700.

We have lost a two inch wide black section on the right side of the plasma panel, any ideas

Most likely the lower buffer board " E " needs to be replaced. Right now I'm working on repairing a 42" Samsung plasma HP-R4272. The Service manual for that TV says for trouble shooting for that problem is the lower buffer board " E ".
Best to find the correct Service Manual for your TV over the internet to get the correct part number for replacement. The Service Manual should be less than $20.

Lg 42'' plasma 720p no picture

This is not good. Was your tv unplugged or just power button off when you left for vacation. PlasmaTvs are highly susceptible to damage from power surges caused by lighting. Leave unplugged for at least five minutes then plug back in and see if this helps.

Black Line on Samsung TV Model # HPR-4252

This is a screen address failure from part of the matrix addressing. This can be caused by fair number of types of faults to cause a missing part of the addressing. You will not be able to fix this yourself.

Find out who the authorised local Samsung service is for your area. They will be able to give you an estimate.
