Mcdevito75 here, The lights should work when the wall switch is turned on, You may have to remove the wall switch cover to check the color of the wires and then the cover just at the ceiling of your fan, follow the fan wires from the pull switch for the fan, since the fan works you don"t have to worry about those wires, just the others for the lights, match the color codes, from the wall switch to the light wires. You may have a RED from the wall switch and red from the fan, hook them togethet then the black or white wires. You may not have a red from the wall, rather a white and blck. Make sure wall switch is off and or fuse / circut breaker is off while working on the se wires.

The light in my ceiling fan blinks on and off. Won't stop blinking when the wall switch is in the on position. The fan works just fine.

Sound like a loose wire. Check either the wall switch to the light or the light connection to the fan (within the fan itself). The small wire cap at the connection could be loose from vibration or fan motion. or it fell off completely. Have it checks now, because there is a high probability of an electrical shot or FIRE. OR you could get an electrical shock. Best you take prompt action today.

Ceiling fan and light kit installation 4 wires 3/1 (red, black, white) from electrical box to 3 wire (black, white. green) from fan. How do the wires connect?

I'm assuming from your question the 4th wire in your electrical box is a bare copper wire which is the ground. The green wire gets wire-nutted to that. The white wires get wire-nutted together. I'm guessing you have two switches installed in the wall for the fan because there is a black and red wire coming from your electrical box (one for the light and one for the fan) connect the two black wires together. The red wire is then connected to the blue wire in the fan which is the light.

My hunter fan is not working. the remote has a new battery however it will not turn the fan on or off and it will not turn the light on or off. the chain on the fan will only work the light. the fan...

It sounds that fan use to work and lights and you did correct thing by changing battery. I've had this problem and it just needs the reciever replaced. Reciever is located at electrical connection in ceiling. Just buy a new universal wireless remote and reciever at any home depot. if dont fill safe doing this task should call an electician to do job or someone with electrical skills.

Why the fan doesn't work but the light works?

possible resons... the fan motor is bad...the fan plug in the housing has vibrated out....the wire to the fan outlet came loose from the wire nut connection inside the electical box...
try plugging a light or other small electrical device into the fan plug and see if it works (be sure the wall switch is on) it will help you determine the remaining possibilities. try plugging the fan into an extension cord to see if it works, if it runs then the fan is ok and the problem is in the wiring connection. if it doesn't work, the fan motor is bad.
hope this helps....jay

The fan works but the light won't?

The electric outlet box in the ceiling (is there only one black and one white wire to be connected)? If so, you have to connect the black and blue wires from the fan to the black house wire. If you know this is already done, you next have to check the connetor from the light assembly to the connector of the fan unit ( that these coneectors are properly fitted). If this is ok , then the final item to check would be the pullchian switch for the light. Over-ride this switch (jump its connection) to see if light works, or take the light unit and apply ellectric to itfrom an extension cord (after you remove it from fan unit). Then you will know if wire connections within light are ok. All this assumes ther fan is not controlled by electronic remote control. If you have a remote control, thenit could be the circuit broard within the fan that sends a signal to the light. Good Luck, Macgivor

1992caravan turn signals, low beams, and heater motor do notwork

A) Faulty turn signal switch or circuit.
B) Broken dimmer switch or poor electrical connection.Could be relay also.
C) Unplug the electrical connector at the motor and use fused jumper wires to connect the fan motor directly to the battery. If the fan still doesn't work replace the motor. If fan works could be your relay.
