Samsung SCH-u740 Calendar Appointment Problem

I had a calendar appointment reminder come up yesterday. I viewed the reminder and then it disappeared completely from my list of reminders for the day. However, the reminder keep popping up every 30 minutes or so even though its not there anymore! It came up while I was asleep, and since I didn't view it, my alarm didn't go off this morning! How do I fix the problem? please help!

I have a Samsun SCH-U410 and have a similar problem with my phone.

The calender appointment reminder alert went off and I hit view now, and then 5 minutes later the alarm sounds again. Now the event isn't even listed in the calender but keeps sounding. I tried setting alarms and even resetting them but it has not stopped the problem. What do I do?

I too have this same exact situation where my calendar constantly goes off reminding me of the same appointment over and over but when I try to modify or edit the calendar, the only option that appears is "OK". I've gone into the calendar and looked for it even to try and search it by the due date and I just cannot locate it. It has woke me up many of times when I have forgotten to shut off the phone before I go to sleep. I had the same exact situation happen before but because the calendar date on the reminder was for February 29, I thought that it was a glitch due to the leap year bug or something. At that time I shut the phone off completely and that resolved that problem then but this reminder for some reason continually comes up even after I've shut the phone off for hours at a time and took the battery out for hours at a time. Please Please help. Thank you

I'm having the same problem with a calendar appointment going off every hour but it's not listed when I try to go in and delete it.

I have the same problem, kinda. I will have a calendar event set and it will notify me and I acknowledge the alert. Then an hour later I am alerted again, this goes on every or or so forever. When I go to try and delete the event I notice it has changed to a 'Recurrence Yearly' event, and I cannot delete it. This has happened several times since I have had the phone. The only solution that has worked is to delete EVERYTHING in my calendar and start over.
I have noticed that since I STOPPED CHANGING the DEFAULT END TIME on events this has NOT happened in about 6 months.
I think VZW/Samsung needs a FW upgrade to fix this, cos they were no help.

    Good luck to all

I have a SCH-u740, and for 3 days its been reminding me about ths one event every 30 minutes or so!, it's so annoying, it wakes me up, and i just can't turn off my phone, cuz i use it as an alram to wake up.. I dont know wat to do, and id rather not delete all my others events, cuz i have many..

Calendar appts go into the 'twilight zone' periodically after I've viewed them. Then they 'remind' me every hour of an event that's already past, and show as 'repeat yearly', which is not how it was entered! The appt itself no longer appears on the calendar at all, so cannot be deleted.

I also find that the only way to stop it is 'erase old' and select 'one day'. This means that I have to re-enter all my repeating events every time it happens. PITA. None of my efforts, nor the Verizon store's tech people's, have caused it to stop re-occuring on a random basis. As the phone gets older, it happens more frequently, once a week or more now at 18 mos old.

My Samsung phone is brand new and I have the same problem down to every detail, the vanishing entry, the "repeat yearly" glitch... except my alarm goes off erratically: it will go off every sixty seconds for an hour or so, then lay quiet for 20 minutes or so, then strat going off once every sixty seconds again. (@_@) Arg!

This is what I got from Samsung when I sent them a summary of the calender failing to deactivate, even after the appointment was removed.
Mine has been quiet for an hour so far:

My previous Solution #2 FAILED. It went off 3 hours later, same thing. I noticed a little calender icon on the front screen. I went back to the Calender page, hitOptions, then Erase Old, then One Day. I noticed it erased 1 entry (which I should have had 0 entries). The main page showed no Calender Icon. I hope this does it. PS write down any anniversaries, birthday, reminders prior to doing this.

I basically cleared my entire calendar by going into the "options" menu while viewing my calendar and choosing the "erase all" option which is #5 of the entries of options to choose from. Ever since then I never had the problem again. I hope this helps

I just erased all old events older than one day about 2 hours ago and so far I haven't had the event come back so I think this fix is the way to do it.

Try setting your alarm again. There should be 3-4 alarm options that you can safe and set multiple alarms.

When I sync the outlook calendar to my iphone, one of two things happens. 1. If I put an all day event in outlook, it syncs to the iphone a day earlier (both otlook & iphone are on same date &...

Make sure time-zone is the same for both iPhone and the computer.

On iPhone setting > Mail,Contacts,Calendars setting > Time Zone Support, make sure you are choosing the city where you are in.

Otherwise, make sure you have updated the iTunes to 7.5 or later.

Update to iTunes 7.5 or later to resolve this issue. If you're not able to update, continue reading for other options to resolve the issue.
Each Outlook calendar event has an internal property known as "Message Class." When some Outlook plug-ins are installed (such as Live Search Maps), the setting for the Message Class property can change from its default of "IPM.Appointment" to something else. iPhone and iPod touch are only able sync calendar events with the Message Class set to "IPM.Appointment," therefore any calendar events created after installing certain Outlook plugins may no longer sync.
To verify this, examine the property of the Calendar event items for MS Outlook and see if the Message Class shows something other than "IPM.Appointment" in any of the calendar events. To view the Message Class property for your Outlook Calendar events, add the Message Class field as one of the columns in the Current View using these steps:
  1. Open Outlook Calendar on the computer.
  2. Choose View > Current View > Events.
  3. For Windows Vista, choose View > Current View > Customize Current View.
For Windows XP, choose View > Arrange By > Current View > Customize Current View.
  4. Click the Fields button and choose All Appointment fields from the pop-up menu in the "Select available fields from" section.
  5. In the "Available Fields" column, select "Message Class" and click the Add button.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click OK.
Now verify that all your calendar events are showing "IPM.Appointment" for the Message Class column. If you have calendar events showing a different value other than "IPM.Appointment" you will need to perform the following steps to fix the issue.
  1. Uninstall any Outlook plugins such as Live Search Maps or other plugins which change the default Message Class "IPM.Appointment" to some other value. Once the plugins have been removed, verify if those calendar events revert back to the Message Class of "IPM.Appointment" so that you can sync the calendar data to iPhone/iPod touch. If you are able to sync, try adding the plugins back one at a time and verify that you are still able to sync.
  2. If removing the Outlook plugins does not change the Message Class value for the calendar events, manually change the Message Class value of those calendar events to "IPM.Appointment." For more information on Message Class and how to change the Message Class fields/value, refer to Microsoft's KB article 201087 How to update existing items in an Outlook folder to use a new custom form
Good luck!

On the LG KP500 can you get a text alert of an appointment?

Set your appointment through your calendar. It will indicate when you wished to be notified and how long you want to be notified. If your worried about the sound of the alert when you receive your appointment notification, then change the default sound within your settings.

LG KP500 Cookie bugs - Calendar Alarms and Sync

I have a lot of problems with the calender. when I first got the phone, a week or two ago, I put my work houres in it, and the whole week, no alarm. then weekend came and a small icon above of a small calender appeared, and the whole weekend it kept on going off 5 times in a row at 7.30, the time I needed to leave for work in the week, when it didnt went off at all O_o today, I had to leave at 8.30 and it went off at 8.30 but also at 7.30 again, while that's not an alarm in my calendar for today.. after work my cookie suddenly went out, I had to take the battery pack out to "reboot" it, now the calender icon is gone, I wonder if it will go off at 8.30 tomorow like planned or if it won't go off at all anymore again..
Another thing I noticed is, that when I put in a date from one houre to another is that it doesn't state the correct houre (when I put in 8.00 to 16.00 it shows 00.00 to 16.00) I put in until I open the actual appointement.
strangely enough, my cookie just lighted up it's screen as if I touched it out of itself and even more strange, the calendar icon up there is back..!
