Question about Vivitar Cameras

Hi my problem is with the customer service and their lack of profesionalism. For past 3 months i was trying to get a replacement for the usb cable for vivitar camcorder DVR 850 W and i got 4 wrong usb cables. Nobody even the managers cannot fogure out how to get me the right one and send it to me... I have made about 15 phone calls so far and nobody can help me to find a correct product. I have no more energy to speak to those people.. Please help!!!!!!!!!!

1. go to a 3rd party supplier (I really hate poor customer support sometimes you just want to kick their ***** for stealing your cash,)
OR
2. go to the shop you bought it from and really make a lot of noise (make sure they are busy) about the issue and I can assure you they will come to an arrangement with you.

There are a few potential solutions you should try. Start by checking your unit's brushroll and clear it of any tangled hair strands or debris that my be blocking the airway. You can carefully use a pair of scissors to do cut and remove anything that is tangled and may prevent the roller from running.

Your unit's brushroll is connected to the motor by belts. Over time, the belt's wear down and stretch out losing the grip and tension that turn the roller. Ideally, belts should be replaced every 3 to 6 months.

Follow by checking the internal hose for any blockages.

If the roller brush is still not working, the problem could be caused by a lack of suction. Washable filters should be washed frequently after every 1 or 2 uses or at least once a month, and replaced every 3 to 6 months for optimal performance. Non-washable filters, should be also replaced every 3 to 6 months to keep your unit running properly.

Hard disk not detected sometimes


I can think of 3 possible causes to your problem:

1. Faulty cable - try replacing the cable by borrowing a working cable from a friend. If this solves the problem then you need to buy a new cable

2. Lack of power - some USB drives especially those for high capacity drives require extra power aside from that provided by USB. If you do not have a separate power leading to your drive, check if there is a separate power slot and run a cable from it to your outlet/USB slot. Just make sure that the voltage levels are correct.

3. USB Slot - some laptops' USB slots do not produce power enough to drive a hard disk. Other devices may work (e.g. keyboards, mouse) but not hard drives. Try to use another slot in your laptop. If this works, remember to use the same slot next time.

"Delete the INFCACHE" has worked for me in the past.

Also I found that I was using a non USB 2.0 cable which caused the "unrecognized USB" problem. Once I used a proper USB 2.0 cable it was fine.

I try this to my customer canon printer and it is working even i used only the step one method.

Here's the steps for reseting "Waste Ink Full" problem at iP1000

Step 1: Manual for Service mode (1st method)
1. Unplug POWER and USB cables.
2. Open door of the printer, PRESS and HOLD the POWER button.
3. Connect the POWER cable.
4. Close door, then release POWER button.
5. Power ON your printer a usual (It should not blinking anymore)

Step 1: Manual for Service mode (2nd method)
1. Unplug POWER and USB cables.
2. PRESS and HOLD the POWER button,
3. Connect the POWER cable.
3. Release the the POWER button
4. Power ON your printer a usual (It should not blinking anymore)


Step 2 : Software for Permanant (1st method)
1. Reconnect the USB cable and turn ON your Printer
2. Open "General Tools for iP1000",

3. Select (USB PORT)
4. Choose (SET DESTINATION 1)
It should be reseted already, but somehow it start blinking again if you ever unpluging AC POWER cable. So try the 2nd method by using ServiceTool for IP1500

1. Reconnect the USB cable and turn ON your Printer
2. Open "General Tools for iP1500",

Can't get connected


There are 3 possible things wrong. You will have to try to test them all. 1) The USB port could be bad. Try plugging another USB device into it and see if the computer recognizes it. Try a USB mouse, portable music player, or any other type of USB device. If it does, then the port is good, and move onto #2. If not, then try another port. If all USB ports are bad, then you will need to have that fixed. 2) The USB cable may be bad. Try swapping out the USB cable. Try using a different USB cable. Also try using the original USB cable with another USB device on another computer. 3) The printer may be bad. Contact vendor support, or just return is to where you purchased it. Another place to see if the device is even being recognized is the Deviec Manager in windows. This can be viewed by Right clicking on My Computer and selecting "Manage". In the Computer Management window that opens, select Device Manager. If you see any question marks there, then your computer may "see" the printer, but the drivers are not installed properly. If you do not see any question marks or the printer, then there is a problem with the printer.
