Question about HP PSC 2410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Repair Manual? I am trying to fix one of these printers that I was given. It looks like the power port is fried and I am going to replace it. But I am having some issues figuring out the proper order to take apart the printer to get to the system board so I can replace the port. I have been looking for a Repair manual that will show the correct way to disassemble the printer. But I have not been able to fine one. Does anyone know a link to a Repair Manual or a site that would list the correct order to disassemble the printer?

Hi, my printer is down no power coming in. But the transformer is hot.

Could it be the Power cord and something else.

There are no service or repair manuals for this POS. This is yet another one of the HP disposable line. If you can't find help here or on another help site, then junk it. Even if parts were available, it would most likely be cheaper to buy a new printer anyhow.

Hi I have a Ricoh 1515MF and I recently had a power surge that fried my power strip, desktop and my Ricoh. The Ricoh will not turn on anymore. I have tried switching outlets, new power strips and nothing...

The power supply unit within the printer also would have damaged while the surge took place . The SMPS - the power supply - is quite sensitive to the power surge and so could have damaged the driver or the front end . you need to take a look at the SMPS unit to confirm. remove the power supply and check for fuse, if the fuse blows again then you have a problem in hand.

What is the cause of problem where my printer (HL 1440) prints with black smudges & streaks of ink on the paper.

sounds like a possible problem with possibly the drum or the transfer belt. trying a different toner cartridge may fix the problem but it may not. Most likely given the cost of repair, replacement may be your best option.
thank you,
Lee

Our hp printer j4680c took a lightning strike. We replaced the power adapter but when we plug it into the printer the light goes out on the adapter. Is there anything else we can try? The unit doesn't...

This sounds as if it has shorted out the main power board inside the printer. Some small TV Repair shops handle out of warranty printer repairs, but will charge considerably for this. Unless your willing to pull it apart it would be more economical to replace the printer. But ask around, someone may be willing to give you a quote, and this should be weighed against the cost of a replacement
Unfortunately with lightning strikes the amount of power surging up the line can destroy many components inside the printer, and not much can be done from the outside.
Sorry it was not the answer your looking for, but lightning is a electrical devices worst enemy!!

Lexmark x6170 power

Your power supply may need to be replaced or the printer if it had a power surge could be fried. I would recommend replacing your power supply by going to a local printer store and see if they have used ones, or if it is a fried mother board you may need to replace your printer. You could also have the printer assessed by a technician to verify that this is the cause.

My canon mp810 was fried in a brownout - any way to save it or is it a large, expensive door-stopper? It was working perfectly before, and I think therefore the power issue is the problem.

Hello.

From FixYa:

It's possible that a replacement power board would fix the printer. Open the printer and get to the power board. Check the fuse on the board. If it's OK, then you need to change the board.

Hope this helps.

Printer to computer connection failure

I assume you're using a USB connection. What you fail to mention is whether you're connecting the printer directly to the PC or through a USB hub. If the latter is the case, because we now have so many USB devices, it is necessary that this hub be powered by its own power supply.
It's very common for these hubs not to work unplugged when devices draw a lot of current which they cannot generate from a simple connection to your PC.
Other than this possibility, I'm also stumped.
Try looking in your user's manual for a built in printer TEST function, usually pressing down some button while you turn power on to the printer. If there's anything wrong with the printer, these diagnostics will tell you what it is.
If all is well, try connecting the printer to a different USB port on your PC. Try testing each USB port with a different device, like a USB pen, to determine that it is not the port.
Good luck!

After lightning struck in my backyard, printer won't turn on.

HI, this was an unfortunate surge that has fried the power board Assembly in this unit. it has also fried the main control. this may be a total loss unless, you are considering replacing the entire mother board and power assembly as well.

Replacing the main control board and power board will restore proper function.

After one print, it goes Offline

Turn off the SNMP option in the TCP/IP printer port Properties

Right-click the printer, select properties
Select port tab, highlight port, click Configure Port
UnCheck SNMP status Enabled.

This fix was given to me from Xerox Tech support.

Good luck
