Hi
I have inherited a Toyota Expert 500 Embroidery Machine, but have no instructions, the machine is very old but running fine, but there are certain functions that I would like to know about , can anyone help with instructions

I purchased a working toyota 500 expert machine with no manuals or instructions. I'm looking for info; manuals, machine value, etc. Thanks!

You may want to try a different design. My best guess is a hardware problem. If you have a loose cable inside that would be the good news. Regardless you need to take this to an expert.

Bernette Deco 600 makes loud noise after stitching


hi! there,
open needle plate if the shuttle race and the bobbins has been pull out that making noise,or accumulation of thread under bobbins, if nothing there, run machine and check if shuttle race and bobbins are moving,also with the needle if not,there are opening at the bottom of machine try to open if some gears are broken,or belt is slip.
if broken gears there a lot of parts before you can pull out gear, beside the timing order you cannot put back.this should be done by technician expert
in sewing machine.take this to service center.

Loose stitch


Welcome to FixYa. I am the sewing machine expert that chose your issue to solve.

When everything seems to be working fine and an occasional stitch is loose.....now get ready.......here it is.......the needle!

It seems impossible, but the needle is the most neglected part of the machine. The one you are using could be slightly bent or have a slight burr that you won't see with the naked eye. Also, needles, especially in an embroidery machine (which work their buns off), are only good for about 8 hours of cumulative use. I would say that an embroidery needle should be retired after 3 or 4. They get dull like a razor blade which can cause enough drag to create a timing issue that's barely perceptible.

There are really only two things that can cause bottom (note: remember that problems with the bottom thread, almost always comes from the top and not the bobbin. Bobbins rarely need tension adjustments). These two things are:
  1. An area was missed when the machine was threaded (most machines have an arrow at each area on the thread path where the thread MUST run or the stitch on the bottom will be sloppy. Threading can be tricky and even the most experienced miss once in a while.
  2. The tension adjustment mechanism in the thread path. If the thread is not properly through this area, the thread on the bottom will be sloppy or if, threaded properly, and the tension is set too loose, the stitch will be sloppy. If the tension is set too tight, the bottom thread will be tight and pucker the fabric.
It is counter-intuitive that problems with the top tension cause problems with the bottom stitch but it sure will.

So try it and see if that helps.

Trouble with Viking 955E Embroidery Unit and Control Panel


Welcome to FixYa. Hi - Viking has online tutorials for several of the 955E features, including embroidery.

Some general hints and tips: 
  • Always turn your machine off when you attach or remove your embroidery arm or when you  insert or remove an embroidery design card.
  • When you insert your embroidery arm, insert an embroidery design card. When you turn your machine back on, you should see a message on the info screen that says something like "embroidery arm will move". Press OK, and the embroidery arm will calibrate. 
  • After the embroidery arm has calibrated, place your hoop on the embroidery arm. 
  • Look at each end of your embroidery arm - you will find a connector that must slip into a corresponding connector on the embroidery machine. This connector slides into a corresponding connector on the machine. The connector on the machine has a cover that slides open and closed. If it is closed, it you might not spot it right away. You must open this slot when you attach the embroidery arm - slide the embroidery arm straight back (not at an angle), so the embroidery arm connects to the machine securely. Although you might need to nudge the embroidery arm in place, do not force it! 
The Viking site also has projects for the 955E that will help you learn to use some of the features - you can probably sew most or all of the free projects on the site, but projects for the 955E incorporate features on your machine that might be available on others. And look for the free designs!

A few more recommendations...You can order a manual for your machine from any Viking dealer and probably online, and I recommend that you do. Your machine has some very cool sewing and embroidery features. I sold Vikings, so I can answer specific questions about many individual features, but Viking manuals are not expensive and can help you save time and avoid irritating problems.

Can I transfer a pattern from brother 4000d machine to usb


Welcome to Fix Ya!
Are you trying to transfer a built-in pattern from your machine to a USB flash drive? I'm not sure if built-in designs can be transferred in their original form. You might try editing the design a bit, save it to a memory space, then save it to the memory stick. If you have a manual, it should describe how to move designs from your embroidery machine to your computer, and vice versa.
If you are other readers have time to rate my answer, you'll help me become a better expert.
