Question about Computers & Internet
I have Dell Inspiron 8100. I haven't used it in a while, it runs Windows ME. I am unable to connect to the internet using IE. It is a wired connection and i know the CAT 5 cable works, as i plugged it into another computer. I have tried the set up wizard but that doesn't fix it.
I would check to make sure that your network card is not disabled. If it is not, then when you plug the cable in to the computer, look at the plug. There should be a couple of lights on it. One should be solid and the other may be flickering. If you dont see this where the plug goes in, there may be a problem with the jack itself which usually requires a motherboard replacement.
