Not sure what the Windows.Old folder will contain, but you can use another computer and go to the acer website and download the drivers onto a CD or USB drive then load them on to your formated computer.
you need to remove your CD drive and floppy drive if avaliable.remove the plate(s) under your laptop, and see if you can see a yellow casing with red and black wiring go to the motherboard. that is the CMOS battery. to replace that, you could go to Ebay, or your local computer store to get the battery. remove the old one, and place the new one in the laptop. If you can't do it, bring the laptop to the store with you. Please rate my solution.
