Question about Lands Phones
You need to dismantle phone and replace Varta CR1/2AA 3Volt lithium battery. Dismantling is easy enough but you MUST lay out the screws etc so they go back in the right place, particularly the one with the two nylon washers underneath the head.

If a BT Contour payphone has no dial tone or display it usually meams that the internal, fixed lithium battery has failed.
We have repaired many Contour payphones by removing the battery and modifying the payphone to run on standard replaceable batteries.
If you replace the lithium battery with another one, you'll have the same problem again.
