Had a storm come through with several power outages. Now the dryer will run for approx 5 seconds then shut off. when it shuts off all the LED's around the dial flash one time, a second or so later, they all flash again and that's it. Is this a trouble code of some kind? Thanks, Kevin model # MDE4658AYW serial # 10458827GV

Purchased 2006, All lights work on the dryer however it will not turn on. Model # MDE4658AYW. Appears you have to take the entire dryer apart just to check the motor ?

Dryer continues to run when I open the dryer door.

The door lock is more than just a latch; it is an electrical interlock. From your description it is likely that the interlock has failed

Maytag Electric Dryer Stopped Working

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.

To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning
