Please tell me how to program a space between the words in a phrase.   I can't find those directions in the manual to my Designer 1 machine.

I keep getting a popup that tells me to uninstall 6D program. Do I have to uninstall it if there is no direct machine communication on a Topaz 30

On your alphabet card there should be an UNDERSCORE. Use this to add spaces between words.

How do I create a phrase using fonts from my computer?

I think they only allow up to 7 or 8 characters.
They probably have an upgrade to offer?

Help I am missing one of the original software disks the the embroidery and digitizing program.

The software has been upgraded many times and now uses a USB port. Which version of software and which disc are you missing? I may be able to help.

I just bought a used Designer 1 ESS machine and I do not know how to use the dongle

You don't need a dongle for the sewing machine. You either have a dongle for the computer embroidery software in which case it goes in your computer when you've installed the software, or you have a USB stick that has the Husqvarna designs on it.

What colour is it? The USB sticks are blue, the 3D software dongles are red. Only problem is, I think the 4D software dongles are blue too!! My Husqvarna Designer 1 USB embroidery stick (blue) has "USB Embroidery Stick" written on it - have a look for that. The dongle will have Hasp or something like that written on it.

If you are pretty sure it is a USB stick, put it in your machine and turn it on. Then touch the disk/stick icon on the lower right hand side of the screen. Your machine should start to read the stick and you will get a pop-up menu where you can choose from the folders on the stick. If you don't, go into the PROG screen. Touch MENU, touch the disk/stick icon and see if the embroidery files on the stick come up then. Each machine came with a set of designs called Embroidery Disk 100 and three alphabets - Palace Script, Kaligraphia and Clarendon. These should all be on the USB stick.

In the event that it is a dongle you have, but not the software, you need to contact the person from whom you purchased the machine.

You can download the Husqvarna designs from the Husqvarna website, but you will need a Husqvarna formatted USB stick to do this. Therefore, you do need software on your computer. There are some low-cost alternatives to the Husqvarna software - Embird and Sew What come to mind. However, a Husqvarna program called 3D Disk Manager USB came with every USB Designer 1 machine, so you should have got that when you purchased the machine. This will be enough for you to load designs from the HV website and from other websites where you purchase designs.

Placing a space between words on the lcd screen.

Go to the end of the alphabet and use the underscore.

This will leave a space and not actually stitch the underscore.

Spacing between words

I have the Model 600. In the characters, there is one that looks like an "underline". Actually, it allows a space between words and does not make an underline mark. Some of the embroidery machines use that character to allow a space between words instead of having a "space" character.

For the HV #1+ embroidery unit, using the plus hoop and embroider

Hi!

You can find the solution by following these steps-

Slide in embroidery card 21 and companion cassette. Touch Embroidery ON.

Touch FUNC to Program mode, The “E” inside the hoop will appear on the left end of the Program display window. If Plus Hoop programming is desired, touch the rotational arrow E one time and you will see the hoop in the Programdisplay window change into a Plus Hoop with a small arrow pointing to the top portion of the hoop, indicating position 1.

Toward the right side of the Program display window are
F1 S1 M1. F1 = Font style (1, 2 or 3), S1 = Size (1 or 2) and M1 = Menu (1, 2 or 3).

FONT: Select 1. Palace Script 2. Clarendon (block) 3. Kalligraphia

(Note: Programmed letters are always displayed in block)

SIZE: Select 1. Large 30mm 2. Small 12mm
MENU: Select 1. Upper case, 2. Lower case, or 3. Numbers and Symbols—check Program display for upper or lower case indication.
Note: You must select the Font, Size and Menu before selecting the letter desired.
Do rate the solution accordingly.

Thanks
Rylee

Use program compatibility wizard and you'll be able to use the same program in Windows XP also.
  • To start the Program Compatibility Wizard, click Start, click Help and Support, click Find compatible hardware and software for Windows XP, and then, under See Also in the navigation pane, click Program Compatibility Wizard.

Probel with Embroidery disc

I am pretty sure you can download Disk 100 free from the Husqvarna Viking website. This has all the embroideries that came free with the machine, plus the alphabets (I think!). You can download this direct to your PC or to a set of floppies, depending on what your Designer needs and what support software you have (or have not) got. If you have no Husqvarna software at all, your PC will not be able to read the floppy. It is in .shv format which PCs are unable to read, being an embroidery machine language only.
If you are trying to open the faulty disk in your Disk Manager software, I always found it worked better if I didn't put the disk in the floppy drive of the computer until after I had already opened Disk Manager.
Hope some of the above is useful to you.
