I did find a little screw - where does it go?

  • swinfordl Apr 24, 2008

Thank you so much - it's working fine now without finding where the screw went and doing the other things suggested - great advice! LSwinford

First disconnect printer from power and usb.
open all printer doors and inspect for small fragments of paper. Also turn printer upside down and check if there is a small part lost inside (eg screw).
Close everything, connect to power and usb and restart.

Check also that your ink cartridges are not dried up or empty.

If is not the above then the printer may be faulty, in this case find a repair service in your area.

Try if the printer works now that you removed the foreign object inside, the screw is not necessarily from the printer itself ( I often find 5 pennies coins, pins etc. inside printers) .
If your printer works fine then the missing screw is either from outside the printer, or is not influing on printer functionality.
If you still get the erro , and you ensured there is no paper inside, then only way I have to fix it is putting my hands on your printer.
An inkjet has several hundreds screws inside, there is no way for me here to find out were it comes from.
In this case may be time to get a repairman in your area.

I have a Canon MX700 and suddenly I began to have problems with the color. I am using Canon ink cartridges but all my color jobs come out with only blue and black, no magenta or yellow. Every time I run...

This worked for me:
Unplug (not just turn off) the printer. Wait at least 20 seconds, then plug it back in. Hold the Feed Switch down, then turn on the printer (continue to hold the Feed Switch down). When the printer finishes cycling the paper feed, release the Feed Switch. Copy anything and it should print. You're good to go.

The printer has flashing light, it rotates between yellow and green but never turns to solid green light, It does not accept any print job. Please advise

Issue: Power light (or Alarm and Power lights) alternate(s) between orange and green
Solution: The S900 may require repair

Unfortunately, the issue you describe seems to indicate that your product requires repair service.

You could try updating the driver, also available at the link above but the manufacturer's website seems definite that repair is in order.

Sorry for this news.

Canon MX310 keeps not printing and message comes up paper jam sometimes nothing happens sometimes startes to take paper then stops sometimes just feeds through without printing , there seems to be no real...

Have you ever tried printing sticky labels in the thing? You have to be careful with those because sometimes a piece will come off and stick in the corner of your printer. If you don't have long surgical tweezers to pull it out, you could be looking at an expensive repair. Also check your manual. There are two places the paper can jam in. You might have checked only one. I have a different Canon model but on mine I also have to make sure the correct light is on. Is the light for feeding from the back on, or the light from feeding on the front? If you have the same light, press it again to change the place where it will feed from.

Make sure your paper isn't curled or that you're using paper that's too thick also.

Can't answer more because I don't know what program you are using to try to print.

Canon pixma mp780 auto feed does not print

You probably need a new printhead, but that problem cann also be caused by the purge or cleaning station not working properly. If you do a cleaning cycle with no carts. and the little pads in the printhead come back with no ink on them then the purge is working and you need a new printhead.
