I've tried to contact a service company recommended by Samsung based on my zip code. They haven't returned my calls yet. How much can I expect to pay for replacing one bulb in my rear projection TV? Thanks.

I have a Mitsubishi WS55809 that I purchased in 2002, and my kids have been using it for gaming. As they are playing, the screen convergence will change constantly from a normal image, to a "bow...

Unless you've moved the unit lately, or the kids have treated it roughly, it's probably not the mirror, which is fixed in place with screws on this model.
You can also take a look at this website here, which describes some solutions to bowing problems, specifically replacing the convergence ICs. However, this is expensive, provided you can still find parts, and probably isn't your problem, anyway.
Since whacking the unit fixes and un-fixes the problem, it's more than likely a connector that's loose. If you know your way around the inside of a TV, you can unplug, clean, and re-plug the various boards and connectors, especially the convergence and deflector boards. That will likely solve your problem
CAUTION: If you don't know your way around the inside of a TV, DON'T OPEN IT! Even after unplugging the TV, some of the wires inside will have enough voltage to cause serious injury. Better to be safe than sorry.

Ihave received a quote on the tv for the color wheel for 700.00 is it worth the cost?

Even if the guys would have given you the real price - around 250 without the labor - it's still too much for an old tv in which other expensive parts are nearing the end of life. Time for a new one

Colors not linging up auto focous not working . can not line them up manually samsung projection tv model hcm422wx/xaa

Your convergence ic's need replaced and probably a couple of burned resistors. My recommendation is to have a reputable service company do the work. It usually costs around $250.00.

Numerous white spots on Smasung DLP TV

Mine is having the same problem. It started around Memorial Day and is only getting worse. One white dot is now a dozen. I called Samsung several times and was given the brush off. They clearly know this is a problem and are failing to respond to the problem in hopes that people will deal with it on their own. It does not matter if your warranty is expired. This is a latent product defect. They are still liable and obligated to fix the problem. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau. If the company does not respond, I'm taking this to small claims court to get reimbursed for any cost to fix my tv.

Cant decide which type of tv is better

LED is a couple years old and so far not many complaints but they won't be around long. Plasma is much more expensive to repair but a great picture. LCD 120hz 1080p is probably the way to go if money is no object. Stay with a brand name such as Samsung, Panasonic, Sharp, stay away from Polaroid, Ilo, Dell, Westinghouse, Olevia, these are brands that have very poor customer support and parts availability. I am in the service industry and I see it everyday. Happy shopping...

SCRATCHED SCREEN

You need to have the display panel replaced, that is an expensive part.
Not much I can do from here, the panel must be ordered, as this parts are not normally on stock.

The best thing to do is calling Samsung to get part price.

My warranty company cannot find digital board ID #BP9401853A

Here's a link to order the original Samsung digital board for this model (HLR4677W) from a major parts distributor:

Samsung HLR4677W Replacement Part Digital Main Board

Part is quite expensive, which may explain why your warranty company is unable to find one. :)

Green shading appears around faces of people on the screen

Try adjusting your TINT control in the menu.

IF the problem seems to be in a surtan area of the screen, the light engine is bad. This is very expensive to fix. You might want to buy a new tv.

Samsung rear projection tv

It probably is see if you can align the convergence manually or auto if available, you can order just the convergence ic's or the convergence amp board, whichever you prefer. check pricing and availability. also check Blue crt for faded picture, usually dirty crt fluid, makes picture dark and discoloured. If it is you may need to replace the blue crt also. this gets a little expensive, again check pricing hope this gets you started RFT
