Identify the ink cartridge that has run out (the ink cartridge flashes quickly at around 1-second intervals).
Replace the applicable ink cartridge and close the cover.
Press the [Resume/Cancel] button on the device to continue printing.

The ink cartridge has not been installed correctly.
Resolution:
Lift the printer cover up.
Check that the red lights on the ink cartridges are all turned on.
If no red light is activated on a particular cartridge, check that the cartridge is securely positioned and adjust if necessary.
Also make sure that the orange protective cap has been removed from the bottom of the ink cartridge.
Press the [Resume/Cancel] button on the device to continue printing.

Sometimes you can get a defective cartridge, and Canon will replace it for no charge, or the store it came from. When the cartridge is OK, the pins that contact the small circuit board could be bent or broken. It sounds like the yellow cartridge is bad.
it is problem your printer black cartridge .Black cartridge is signal E 5 color cartridge is E6.please change it you buy a new original cartridge

The cartridge could be bad. Try some others if they don't work then the printer is bad. I have a Canon Pixma MX300 and it seems it could be very easy to not get them seated completely.
Make sure each cartridge is completely horizontal with the table/surface it's on. If it's leaning toward you slightly it is probably not seated all the way.
The cartridges look similar to mine. You put them in the slot and push back and up until they pop into place.
