[ARC20x User Guide p20: 11 Handset Registration] To register a new handset:
Press and hold the HANDSET LOCATOR on the base unit until you hear Registration tone (repeated 'beeps')
On the handset, press the PROG then the UP or DOWN button to display "REGISTER"
Press the PHONE/OK -> The display shows "BS 1234". If any of these numbers is steady (not flashing), then the handset is already registered to that base unit.
Press 1 to select base unit number 1 -> The display shows "BASE PIN _ _ _ _"
Key in the system PIN (default 0000) and press the PHONE/OK -> The display shows "WAIT _ _ _ _" for a few moments, while the handset searches for a base. Then it shows a list of handset numbers which are still free on the base unit. (For example, "1 34 6" indicates that numbers 1, 3, 4 and 6 are free; 2 and 5 are already assigned to other handsets.)
Key in a free handset number -> After a moment, the display should show the handset's name and number.
If registration fails...
Try again, making sure you begin step 2 as soon ans Registration tone starts.
Maybe a little bit late, this is the solution for registering the handsets: hold the button on the base until it starts beeping, then, on the handset, go to the Register menu, select base number - in my case it's 2, then it will ask the PIN - the default is 0000, and that's it.
