Question about Sony KV-36XBR450 36" TV
While watching straight lines like the sat. guide the picture is bowed up in the middle. anout 3/8" at the bottom and 1/4" at the top. Is there an adjustment in the back for this and can I do it myself? I do have alot of video savy as I build computers and have fixed some TVs before.
The most common cause for this are electrolytic capacitors in the pinn amp and scan amplifiers going out of spec with age and use. It is more rare, but it is still possible have other support components go defective in these areas. This fault is refered to as pin amp distortion.
I have repaired many of this type of problem over the years.
If you decide to troubleshoot this yourself, take care about the high voltages employed in the TV set.
