Retuning my remote to TV

I lost the remote and inadvertently reset the tuning - found the remote and am having problems trying to reset the tuning. I get to the preset section but do not know how to save the channel.

Can't tune one for all urc3910 toshiba tv. Tried all the codes it was working but there was no way to get a menu up, tried the search option and no tv will not work at all

It may be because that remote has "lost its memory". I may be out of touch with modern devices but nowadays they are made with a blank chip inside which is then loaded with suitable codes to suit their potential use, like a particular brand.
I have over the years found that they can just "lose" this loaded code and are then no further use, I never found a reason but random button pressings or a low battery could trigger this problem.
I would check with another remote.
Should it be the TV then turn it off (not just standby) for an hour say or overnight then try it again (will allow it to reset itself if possible) failing this a service engineer.

Digital switchover

I also have the Sony IDTV KD-28DX4OU Digital TV.After the digital switchover I lost BBC1 and BBC2 despite retuning three times.
I contacted Digital switchover people (useless) and they passed the buck to Sony.I contacted Sony and they said they cannot fix the problem and that I should get a digital set top box. So the £650 I spent on integrated Digital TV has been wasted. If like me your cheesed off with this then I suggest you complain here

I am trying to re-tune my Samsung DV3 HD TV for the switchover but when I try to select settings it won't let me click on the icon to re-tune the TV

Does the icon look like a large sattellite dish?
Make sure your tv is on "tv" and not "dtv" before retuning.

I have a Samsung tv and that icon is not accessable from the menu if i am watching the tv on the digital option of my remote. You have to switch your tv to the "tv" option on your remote and you will be able to access the icon from your menu.
(on your remote, you should have a button with TV/DTV on it)

When turning on the Sony KV-28DX20u TV I find that all the program settings have been lost. Have retuned the set but after turning off and on again these settings are again not saved.

The retuning process is as follows:

  1. Press the [i+] button on the remote control to display the DIGITAL INFO menu.
  2. Press the BLUE button to display the MAIN MENU.
  3. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight AUTO TUNING then press the OK button to display the AUTO TUNING MENU.
  4. Press the RED button to start the auto tuning process for all available digital channels.
  5. Wait for the process to complete.

If you wish to CANCEL the auto tuning process whilst it is processing then press the BLUE button at any time.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

Tuning a samsung tv to a phillips dvd, a goodmans video and an akura freeview box

It sounds like you are trying to tune in the dvd and video to a free channel on your tv, I would suggest using the scart connection if your tv has one. Scart leads only fit in the one way so you cant go wrong. Scart leads are available everywhere including tesco.
Once the scart leadt isconnection between the dvd and the tv then use the AV1 button on your remote controll and you will get sound and picture in better quality than manual tuning.
