Question about Xerox Phaser 7300DN Laser Printer

Phaser 7300 Printing Diagonal Lines

Since initial purchase, whenever I print graphics or color copies, the background of each print-out reveals thinly spaced diagonal lines.   Perhaps this is normal for an LED printer?  I'm skeptical as there are many lower cost color printers available with much better resolution and output (again, assuming the diagonal lines are as designed.)   Any insight or advice?  Many thanks.

    Many thanks for your advice and I will do as you've suggested. However, I recently noticed something when I ran a color reference page last night: the diagonal lines only appear on Black and Cyan colors (or in full-color or blended-color images or text when black and cyan are used.) Does this continue to sound like a drum cartridge problem? Also, your advice above seems to suggest that I remove the current drum cartridge and then replace same cartridge into the machine (no mention of purchasing a new or replacement cartridge) -- just want to make certain that I understand your advice clearly. Many thanks.

This not normal , but occurs with alot of LED printers.

    perform the following steps:


    1. Power off the printer.

    2. Unplug the power cable.

    3. Pull to open the front cover and then lift to open the top cover.


    4. Raise the lever on the top right side of the drum cartridge.


    5. Grasp the drum cartridge by the handle and lift up and out.

    6. Insert the drum cartridge.

    7. Close the top and front covers.

    8. Plug in the power cable.

    9. Power on the printer.

Have you perform print test page? if yes does it exhibit the same symptom?
I suggest you reset the printer as below before perform the print test page.
Reset as below
1. remove any power supply from the printer including the power cord from the main socket.
2. Leave it for about 35 minutes
3. Plug in the power cord again and turn on.

Are you printing color, or B&W? Clean cartridge (Black and Photo). Align cartridges. Last resort, wipe contacts on cartridges with lint free cloth and alcohol. Get new cartridges!!

Will not print in color

If the machine will copy in color it should print in color.
After verifying that it will copy in color, verify your driver is capable of being switched from black and white to color. If there are no color settings then you have the wrong driver. The link above will take you to the support page where you can download new drivers.

Most likely replacing the cyan print cartridge will clear this right up. The part number is 113R00719 for the standard capacity. Iteminc.com has this in stock and ships same day for $99. Good luck, and thanks for using fixya!

Phaser 7300 dn prints full yellow color background on every page even if the background copy shows no color.


Most likely the yellow drum unit is causing that problem. The charge roller gets worn and makes whatever color it is in print out all the time. That would require replacing the yellow imaging unit.

Problem printing in color on Xerox Phaser 8200 from Mac


That actually should make magazine quality color.
What are you experiencing? Do the colors not match? Are there smears or light streaks?
I will gladly work with you to revolve your problem, I just need a frame of reference to start.
Let me know.
You may simply need to download and install a different driver.
They are on www.xerox.com you should be running the PS version of a driver for better graphics.

Will not print multiple collated two sided publications without individually sending each job


I would try changing the driver you are using. There are multiple drivers and it really sounds like that will resolve your problem.
For the drivers go to Xerox.com.
on the tool bar select Support and Drivers.
Then enter your printer number, being phaser enter phaser 7300 in the search .
Select your operating system and there will be PS and PCL drivers.
I am 99.9 percent sure the issue is in the driver.

check your printing program. are you using a mac or apple program? like quark? check setup, maybe there's something like reverse printing option or transparent printing.
