Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

HI I HAVE JUST REPLACED THE INK IN MY CANON MP 760 PRINTER. ON THE PRINTER ITSELF HOWEVER, AFTER OPENING A DOCUMENT (WORD) TO PRINT, IT FAILS TO PRINT. THE PAPER IS STILL FED TROUGH AS THOUGH IT IS PRINTING BUT NOTHING IS ON THE PAPER. THERE IS ALSO NO FAIL MSG IN THE PRINTER DISPLAY. IF I CONDUCT A PRINT TEST FROM THE PRINTER ISELF , IT DOES INFACT PRINT A TEST PATTERN. ANY IDEAS WHY IT WONT PRINT FROM COMPUTER, I HAVE TRYED A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT DOCUMENTS ETC, THANKS BEN.

Check that is defined as default printer in 'installed printer' in Windows, and that you are not sending documents in printout to another non connected printer present in Windows under 'installed printers'.

Unplug completely computer from power socket and from USB for 10 minutes, to get rid of electrostatic problems on USB. Plug everything back and restart.

Check the USB cable, replace USB cable with a different one to check if it was the cable.

Uninstall printer from 'installed printers' in Windows (delete). Disconnect printer from USB, reinstall printer from printer software CD or downloaded driver. Connect printer to usb only after installing, or when explicitly required by software, this is important

Here is link to driver download, put your windows version in select OS box.

What is error e5 in mp 198 printer

E5 - The ink cartridges are not installed or a non-supported ink cartridge is installed , or the ink cartridges are not installed properly..

  • In certain models of Canon Pixma printers such as the Canon MP160 and Canon MP150, you may receive an E5 error when trying to print. In this state, you will not be able to use any of the functions of your printer. The error itself is an ink cartridge error. It may be that you are using generic or off-brand ink cartridges in your Canon Pixma printer. Canon Pixma printers do not work with other brands of print cartridges; invest in Canon brand ink cartridges and this should take care of your problem.

I Have a problem with my canon MP 150 Printer

From Canon Support: "Please be advised that if the MP 150 is displaying the letter E followed by number 3, this would indicate a paper jam. "
