Kenwood KVT-514 installation

I recently purchased the above head unit and installed it myself. When installing the wiring harness, I mistakenly removed the parking brake switch wire from the harness and was curious as to which pin in the harness this one occupies so I can ground it out and watch dvd's. I also have the sirius tuner and bluetooth tuner and I found out that they both run through the same input. I can only run one at a time at the moment. Does anyone know if you can run both simultaneously through a splitter or is there another way to set it up?

Your bluetooth tuner should have come with an adapter plug so you can plug it into a different port so both can be hooked up simultaneously

How do i wire up m Kenwood KVT-696 so that i can play DVD's, it shows a blue screen saying 'parking off' do i connect my AV in or AV out cords coming from the head unit?

For safety, the KVT-696, like other 'head units,' is design so that, properly installed, it will only work while the vehicle is in Park, with the parking brake ON. Makes sense if you think about it. Hey?

How to pair your phone to the bluetooth on th kenwood kvt-514

Go into your Setup menu and scroll down to bluetooth settings.

From here you should see a screen that says "HFP connect device", "A2DP connect device" and "Receiver pin code".

Press the "Set" button to the right side of "A2DP" and it should bring you to another screen that says Pair device.

Go onto your phone settings and make sure you have your bluetooth setting on your phone set to "make discoverable"

Press the search button on the Kenwood unit on the right side and it will start scanning for available devices in the vicinity

Also press the Search button on your phone so it also starts scanning.

Next you should get a message on both your phone that shows the Kvt-514 and also a message on the Kenwood that shows either the model of your phone or your "nickname" (if you named your phone)

Select the Kvt-514 on your phone and it will prompt you for the pin code that was on the first bluetooth setup screen...most likely 1111 (you can also set a different pin code using the "set" button to the right side of the "Receiver Pin Code" on the first bluetooth setup screen)

Enter the Pin code and select "Pair" on your phone.

You should get a confirmation on both the Kvt-514 and your phone that they are connected and you're good to go.

I have a Kenwood KVT-514 CD/DVD player that I just installed, But in getting no sound, The Radio works fine but when i try to you a cd or a dvd there is no audio. I've checked my connections seval times...

it sounds like you are using an amplifier. if so you are probably using the blue wire (antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on) to turn the amplifier on. the power antenna remote wire turns off when leaving tuner mode.

Hi
Guess your car's wires haven't been cut. Go to any stereo shop and get the harness that's specifically for your car. The colors on it will match all the colors on the clarion harness. Connect like colors, plug in, and you're done.
Please check the below mentioned site for the wiring diagram which will help you for the installation.
