Skamatic drawngs I need the drawings to repair a radio. Swede

NO ECM (engine control module). The skamatic does show PCM powertrain control module. Look under the hood, near the back of the motor. On the frame rail or the fire wall. Power Distribition center (PDC) should be ther as well.

You have some sort of wiring issue most likely. The fact that it blew your receiver could mean that you have a short in a wire where the new radio was installed, and possibly a wire that is bare and grounding out against some of the metal components inside the dash. The only other this I have ever seen do that to a radio is if the antenna wire has somehow shorting out to the body of the car and grounding out the radio.

You have a 4.3 a 97 If have a 96 4.3 and all of the factory manuals that are avababule for it. But there is no break down of the vacuum routing although i have it figured out. Mabey you could tell me what the problem is and i could tell you schematical information on where the vacuum routing should go So get back to me if you want answers i know this vehicle like the back of my hand pier_j

all you need is the radio keys to remove the radio. If the radio has two little slots in the bottom corners is the way to tell if thats all you need. Any good Mercedes repair shop should have the radio keys and should be able to pull it out for you at no charge. It only takes seconds to do.

Are you familiar with removing battery cable from battery + and installing a 12 volt test light from cable end to battery post ? If the light is on bright, you have a good draw. Now start removing fuses you suspect may be causing the draw, and when light goes real dim, or out, you found the circuit with the draw. Keep in mind radio memory will cause small draw as well. Just keep track of where they came from.

go to parts store with model and engin number and get price of part ask them to print out skamatic of replacement, or go to libary and check out a repair manual for ur car , u can access some repair manuals on line using your search engin

The built in power amplifier has gone bad and needs to be replaced. You can have the radio repaired, which is cheaper then replacing it. It's common for the OEM radio on the GM to go bad as they draw high current and the heat causes the problem. Good luck and keep me posted.

you can contact dura brand on the back of the unit it should tell you where it was made and if your lucky a phone no see if you can locate a schematic there

sounds like you have a draw on the battery unhook your positive battery and put a test light between the battery post and the pattery lead if test light lights up you have a draw you will need to pull fuses one at a time until light goes out when light goes out see what that fuse powers and repair i just had a problem with a 99 regal and found the radio was drawing on the system found radio shorted internal
