I have a GE Monogram ZIS 42NCA build in refrigerator. This thing has had several problems. The latest is that the freezer won't freeze items. It is cool, but not enough to freeze items in the freezer. Any Ideas?
Your evaporator coil in the rear area behind the panel is iced up and blocking fan air flow to the freezer compartment

Behind the panel inside the freezer? Or on top of the freezer? How do you fix that?
the evaporator coil on this unit is on TOP of the unit. There is a fan on top of the ice maker behind two panels. On top of that is insulation. on top of the insulation is the evaporator coil. HOW DO YOU REACH IT? It appears to be sealed. ps. the part of the unit between the freezer and the refrigerator is hot enough to blister you. It gets that way from time to time.
The evaporator coil for this unit is on top of the unit. I took the panel off behind the ice maker and then took the panel off above that, revealing the top of the unit. There is a peice of styrofoam about 2" thick with a gap in back and one in front. you cannot remove the styrofoam. I can feel the coils on top of the styrofoam. The top panel is sealed on the top of the unit from the front. Do I need to remove the unit from the cabinet? How do I access it? The peice between the refrigerator and freezer is almost hot enough to blister you. But that is normal for this unit. Any help??
