Question about Hard Drives
I also do that but still my problem not solve so pls send me the driver if u have i have window 98 driver which is not suitable for XP so pls give XP driver if u have , solve my problem
If you properly set the jumper and XP does not see the drive make sure all connections to the drive are "in" as tight as they go, if windows stiull does not see the drive, then the drive is 93% positively BAD! Get another hard drive. Windows 98se has NO drivers included, or written in the aftermarket for hard drives of this size. You will need to install a dynamic disc overlay (DDO) to tell a lie to CMOS thyat the drive is below 32 GB, when this utility loads as it must each time the machine boots, CMOS will see the small drive it expects to see, yet inside windows you will have access to the drives full space. Do NOT "tweak' the HD parameters...cylinders, sectors, etc...this will make the drive unmanageable. It would once again "disappear".
Your only other option would be to upgrade your BIOS by flashing it, so it would recognize the new drive. IF that BIOS flash included the recognition of Hard drives over 32 GB, the former barrier before 133GB.
