Connection I have an instant news window [deepika instant news by jacob son] installed on my computer and till recently ot was working allright. But now when ever I try to open it, it shows 'error connecting to internet at..... 8.0 am or 12 pm etc

Good News and Bad:

Bad News - if the server was dropped really hard, the drives needles may be damaged and can not read the data on the disk(s).

Good News - If you know of a local company that do hard drive repair, they may be able to get the drive to work again to at least transfer the information to a new drive. (Check you local yellow pages for Data Recovery services.)

Hope you at least have a backup of the information that was on the drives.

1. check the router to see if you have a firmware update
2. check cables ( make sure you don't have a crossover cable.
3. check firewall in router and the PC OS ( operating system)environment.
4. check the setup for the XBOX

Could be alot of things.

The host name and domain are mainly for organizational purposes, like tags.
If you're using wireless a recognizable CCID is good to have.

If your son is using wireless, he will need to have the security Key, that's set on the Router, in order to go through it. He may be able to connect to the router, but won't be able to go through it to the Internet without the key.

Also, if your son is using a Windows 98 or prior, he will have to use the correct Login credentials. These operating systems don't tell you when you're not using the correct credentials, till you try to do something on the network. More recent Operating systems correct this.

The first step is onto the network, so see if you can see his computer on the network as a "Workgroup Computer".

The second step is through the routers security settings.

Usually the problem with windows 7. if you have 2cables connecting from youre monitor to the graphics card, unplug one of them, it worked for another guy

reinstall the network card drivers and all should be allright

Is the disc clean???
Make sure there is nothing on it. You can wash it in hot water and any liquid soap.
Only wash the disc in **ONE** direction and never in circles. Just straight across._______________
Rinse and dry same way.

wow yea it's looking for grub/linux i did that same thing once you need the xp install disc insert that hopefully you can get into your bios then go and set it to boot from disc restart and go through the options till you get to repair and type in fixmbr
