Problem with Dishwashers

My Asea 1502 Dishwasher gets most of the way through a cycle then stops with lights flashing. It is empty of water. What is the problem?

    • Sorry for double post, I wanted to edit my last post but coudlnt...So let me start all over again...
My 19 years old machine always worked great, paid 1200$ back in 1989 and it worth every penny...Always find the solution when it breaked down: I've change the pump that gets the water in, change the water inlet valve...everything was fine until recently:
it all started suddenly, for no reason, each time we were putting dishes into the dishwasher, as we open the door, the drain pump starts working...and stop as we closed the door. Few days later, same thing again, we open the door, drain pump started, but this time, it never stopped. we had to turn the power off as it wouldnt stop. plz help, thank you for your time

    • Hi,

I have the same problem, except I am able to touch the heating element while going through the fault diagnosis. We just rec'd this dishwasher that a friend had taken out when renovating. They barely used it, it looks brand new. I am thinking a connection must have come loose for the heating element. I am unable to download the use and care guide you mentioned, wondering if anyone could e-mail this to me. Thanks!

Further to my problem with my 19 year old ASKO ASEA D1502 Dishwasher .
I found a Use & Care Guide online at the ASKO site:
http://www.asko.com.au/downloads/manuals/
(It is an 8MB PDF, only 20 pages scanned)

The manual says flashing lights in the combo I had indicate heater fault.
Manual has good test procedure and I followed that and it showed that the Heater is OK.
Machine works through full cycle but flashes at the end.
It is an old machine so I suppose I just live with it unless anyone has any suggestions.

The bottom basket of my 16yr old ASKO 1253 has started to fall apart. The wires are breaking off. ASKO ceased carrying these 2yrs ago. They apparently have a 14yr backup policy. ASKO do recoat old baskets but the wires have to be in good condition. Does anyone know where I may be able to source another basket?
