I recently tried to reinstall Roxio RecordNow 9 Music Lab Premier. After reinstalling it I went to click on the icon to open the program when a window popped up and gave the following message: "The certificate file is missing or has been corrupted. Please reinstall it." Have tried rereinstalling it a number of times with no luck. Is there any possible remedy to this problem without having to purchase all over again?

Just search your computer for any file hidden or not that starts with sarlicense9

I found a sarlicense9.dat, deleted it and now have no more issues.

Uninstall the program, then do this.

(assume default view, for classic it's easier)
-Control Panel ->Appearance and Personalization->Folder Options->View : click on "Show Hidden files and folders" then click Apply
-Using explorer go to : c:\Program Data
-Delete folder called Roxio & Sonic (if present)
-Start Creator : should go through registration etc. (at least in my case)

if you have the disk to install it with. put the disk into the cd rom and let it start up. It is a lengthy wait but it should start up by its self follow the on screen directions. I have the item also this is the way it works for me. Michel

If you are getting the error at startup, roxio service might not started or disabled. What you can try to do is to enable all roxio service. refer to the steps below.
- click start > run - type services.msc - look for all roxio service i.e roxwatch.db - double click it then select the startup type to automatic - save the changes then restart computer

Roxio 9 compatibility with windows 7


Roxio 9, Roxio Creator 9 and Roxio Creator 10 are different animals. Roxio 9 is 3 years old +. It likely will not handle 64bit or Windows 7.
Roxio Creater 9 is not listed as compatible with Windows 7

Find the program under Programs directory, right click the directory icon, and select delete.. this will remove it.. to find it right click on icon on desktop, or start menu, and choose "open file location" or look in the properties box for the path.. anyway go there and delete it. be careful you get the right one..

Doesn`t work all the time and makes a whirring noise, do i need to buy a new cd/dvd drive?


Before you beginTo determine if the CD or DVD drive displays on the My Computer screen, follow the steps below.
  1. Turn on the computer and remove any discs from the CD/DVD drive.
  2. In Windows 98 and Me, double-click the My Computer icon on the desktop. In Windows XP, click Start and then My Computer .
  3. A CD/DVD drive icon displays on the My Computer screen when Windows recognizes the drive. If Windows recognizes the drive, find and use a section below that pertains to the CD-writing software with the issue.
  4. If the drive does not display on the My Computer screen, go to the Microsoft support website and search for documents on missing CD DVD drive .
RecordNow by Veritas/HP/Sonic does not recognize the CDRW or DVD+RW driveIf RecordNow does not recognize the CDRW or DVD+RW drive, follow the steps below.
NOTE: Install any updates for the RecordNow engine available on the Sonic support web site (in English). Step 1: Uninstalling RecordNowTo uninstall RecordNow to reset the software and cause it to look for the CDRW or DVD+RW drive again, follow the steps below.
NOTE: The steps below pertain to Windows XP.

In Roxio Creator 2010 slideshow won't open..complaining " Certificate file is missing or has been corrupted". Reinstaling does not help


Hi.

Check that the date on your computer is correct. Certificates are checked on an online microsoft database. If your computer has date Jan.2001, you get the certificate error.

If that was not the problem, then try the following:

Go to Control pane, switch it to classic view.
Open Control Panel ->Appearance and Personalization->Folder Options->View , then click on "Show Hidden files and folders" and Apply or OK
Go to : c:\Program Data
Delete folder called Roxio & Sonic
Try starting Roxio Creator.

If still no luck , do a system restore to a date that is one or two days before you tried to install Roxio.
After system restore, log in from account with administrator privileges, and reinstall Roxio.
When you reinstall Roxio, instead of double clicking on installer file, try clicking right mouse button on setup file and choose "Run as Administrator" from dropdown menu.
Allow all requests to allow system changes when asked.

I tried deleting a burned version of roxio creative suite 9 and now I keep getting a loading screen popping up looking for the disc. I have t press cancel several times for it to stop. This only happens...


1.You should reinstall the software if you can.

2.Then go to add remove hardware and remove if from there.

3. if this still does not work out the reinstall again and find the folder with the uninstall file. ( right click desktop icon select properties click find target ) and click the uninstall file.

Your windows registry still contains elements that want to use the software. By just deleting your folder / files you have left all of the hidden commands in windows that is used to start the program.

Roxio 9 running on vista now has bands in the meuu and video editing program.

Reinstall roxio 9 after completly removing it from control panel.
Reinstall it with custom settings(i.e.in a diff folder).
