Question about Computers & Internet

Generic Win982 drivers

Have tried Nusb33e, the storage drivers themselves are a bit buggy;
Too many hang-ups. (The USB2 'Microsoft' drivers are not too
bad, but they ain't 'Adaptec' ) As far as loading up that entire 242975-type
suite, I would caution any novice or unskilled user NOT to load it!
It is extremely unstable. I was able to rescue that partition by overcopying
the new files from my CAB files. There is no general Uninstall program,
only a USB2 uninstall for the 3 drivers & 1 inf file.
Nusb33e is a good program to Un-Zip and play with, a few files at
a time. Good learning experience.
Anyway, the 5 'stick-reader' files; usbstor.sys, usbntmap.sys, usbmphlp.pdr, usbstor.inf, & usbntmap.inf are the ones I'm currently using.
Can you think of any others, Sir? Thanks, Dana.

Well, You may be right. The Misses and the kids have the XP

computer and sometimes they even let me use it. (when they

have problems, mostly). I'm getting a laptop with XP or Vista,

but this old 1999 Dell Pentium III 500 just will not die!

I know every file on the harddrive and It's still faster on the internet than the P4- 3.5G machine. No lie.

Maybe I can get this dinosaur to evolve a bit further, maybe not.

    Thanks, Dana.

I am sorry, but I have had terrible luck with any USB device on any version of Windows 98SE and earlier. Your best option would be to upgrade the OS to at least Windows 2000. Avoid Windows ME, as it is just Windows 98 with problems added to it. I am sorry, but it is time to upgrade.

I have a Quantaray SD card reader, I put a SD card in it and it doesn't work. I guess I need a driver or software in my Windows 7

Are you sure it's an SD card? If it's larger than 2GB then it's actually an SDHC card and won't work in devices designed only for SD cards.

Digital media manager with t6426

Which operating system ?

What happens when you tried to plug-in SD card to the computer?

Have you made any recent changes to the computer prior to the issue?

To make the SDHC be recognized by the computer, we need to ensure that the card reader works in Windows 7 first. Please check if the card reader is recognized properly by the computer and you have installed the driver for it.

Meanwhile, you can plug some other storage cards to the card reader and see how it works.

I would suggest you to refer the link below
A Secure Digital (SD) card may not be recognized on a Windows 7 based computer.

Uninstall all the Generic USB drivers and reinstall.

1. Open Device Manager.

2. In "Disk Drives" dropdown, uninstall the "Generic SD/MMC USB device" drive.

3. Restart computer.

4. Insert SDHC card.

Hope this helps.

Fresh install of windows xp pro on a hp pavilion a1000n. Video, Audio, USB, and Modem drivers not installed. No support on this product found at either Hp's website, nor Intel (the motherboards...

I doubt, due to no support from Microsoft, anyone still supports XP. The nearest drivers I can find are Vista32 bit drivers.
Have fun and good luck.
How about Win2000 drivers, they are very similar?

Hello sbrown20,

Do whats suggested at this article;LN];314060

Anyway, as Mark7171 said, there are no drivers for optical drives and Windows has its generic driver for it, which is good enough.
