Editing? Can dictation be paused, then go back part way and....
Is it possible to pause dictation, "rewind" a short way, and then begin dictation again, thereby "erasing" an error, for example? I had hoped I could do some editing as I dictated, or by opening file in PC and doing so there.
Does anyone know if there is a recorder that allows this, w/o using program such as Dragon? Thanks so much

You can not do this with the Olympus ws-100, you need a dictation
machine that has the editing function which allows you to easily
insert, overwrite, partially erase files and continue on the same file,
most of the digital dictation units have NEW FILE BUTTON , you will
stay recording on the same file till you press new. Look at Olympus DS-2300. Olympus DS-33300 or ds-4000.

Did they work before? For example, I bought my son a Samsung TV and the remote had rewind, pause etc. on the remote but they did not work. This is because the smart TV did not record the live image to allow this feature as it did not have any built in hard drive and I had to add a memory stick or hard drive into the USB port on the TV to allow the rewind, record and pause to work.
What motherboard do you have? If you don't know, provice make and model of your system and maybe we can find out that way. Is it one long beep? Are there any other beeps and/or a sequence. A good place to start and alot of times, depending on your bios, 1 to 3 beeps means a problem with the RAM(memory). If you have more than 1 stick, you can pull them out, restart and if the beep is the same, you've probably found your culprit. You can then insert one at a time in one of your slots, then restart. If this works, you've found a good stick. If not, try another slot and restart, etc. Try all sticks in all slots.
When you try to use the DVR features, do you get an error message (024 or 311)? Have
you unplugged your 625 receiver yet? If not, unplugged the receiver
for about 10 seconds and plug back in. This will cause the receiver to
reboot and acquire satellite signal. When the picture comes back on,
try to pause. If it still doesn't work, we may need to replace the 625
receiver. I hope this helps.
While this seem very basic, please follow these steps… 1.Press Open and open the LCD 2.Slide the Power Switch repeatedly until you reach the Play/Edit mode 3.Touch the Rewind button( ◄◄) until you reach the part of the tape you wish to watch. 4.Touch the Play/Pause button (► ll) to begin playback 5.Touch the Stop button (■) to stop playback 6.Touch the Pause button to (► ll) to pause 7.TouchFast Forward button (►►)
Hi djn Collinswhen your DVR is not allowing you to pause or rewind live TV you will need tounplug the receiver for 10 seconds and allow the receiver to power back up and acquirethe signal. Then you will want to try the functions again and make sure theyare working fully.
-power on the stereo
-push the clock button
-press pause on the cassette deck - the hour should be blinking
-press fastfoward/rewind to adjust it up and down
-push pause again to move to minutes
-push ff/rewind to adjust minutes
-push pause one last time
Unfortunately with this device the VN-2100PC it is not possible to rewind and overwrite any dictations that were done. Each time the record button is pressed and then the stop button is pressed it will create a new file. They may want to look for a DS-2300 or a DS-2400 recorder as these devices have the ability to rewind and allow you to dictate over previously recorded information in the same file. There is a button on these devices called "New" that allows you to stay within the same file until you press New to start the next audio file.
