Hitachi 57TWX20B Picture Problem

I have a Hitachi 57TWX20B that is only 5 years old. A few days ago as I was watching a program, the picture began to blink on an off like the shutter on a camera. The picture would then return. It now happens about every 30 seconds, and then the picture returns again. Today when I powered up the TV, the picture did not come on at all. After a few power resets, the picture came back, but it was still doing the camera shutter thing! Can you assist me with a possible resolution? Any estimated prices for a fix would be extremely helpful as well. Thanks so much!

    My tv, When Iturn it on it comes one for about 5 seconds then tuns off. What is wrong?

Picture is fuzzy for the first few mins after turning on
This may be an issue with your color wheel where it isn't spinning up to speed at first but finally does after the 2 - 10 minutes. Fairly common in DLP TV's.
This could be fixed by a qualified Hitachi Servicer.

Darker picture
Clean the lenes inside of the TV and the mirror and screen (a little dust build up on these three things adds up quick!) also if you smoke that can build up too! these tvs have too be cleaned inside

the problem you are describing sounds like a vertical output ic problem could be it needs to be resoldered or could be defective and needs to be replaced if you are handy you can do the repair yourself a repair shop would be at least about 100.00 for service call and problably 150.00 or more for repair but if you are handy I can post you a link where you can get the IC with free online tech support to do this repair yourself

HITACHI BIGSCREEN TV MDL 57TWX20B APPROX 4-5 YEARS OLD...TV SHUT DOWN WHILE WATCHING AND WON'T POWER BACK UP
This can be one of two problems. 1: convergence output ic's need to be replaced. 2: The problem is in the power supply, most likely a power diode.

Both problems you will need to take it two a repair shop.

No red in picture
It could be a dry solder joint on the base socket pcb. Try resoldering the base socket, and try for dry joints on the main board also. Check if the rgb voltages are steady on the crt driver transistor bases.
