Try this method it may work. If you can boot up with the external USB hard drive on your Acer, then use a working computer and copy the Windows installation CD onto the external hard disk then connect the USB externak hard disk to the USB port on your Acer and boot up using the external hard drive.

Hello, I would recommend you to use another computer with CD rom and copy the content of the CD into a USB memory stick, then you can connect the USB memory stick to your Samsung notebook.
Another solution more expensive is to buy an external USB-CD Rom drive.
Install it from a hard drive... or.. set your pc on a network then share the cd room on the other pc ot he network... run and install the application...
Hello, you relly need to reformat it you can use an os installer suach as linux or windows using a usb flash drive, but you have to transfer the installer cd to the usb drive by using the wintoflash application. Once you've done that now you can reformat and install os in your notebook using your usb flash drive.
If you have no CD ROM you will need another PC on which to make an image file of the game and then you will have to copy that file to your pc, and "mount" the image, using a program that makes your pc think it has a CD ROM and that it is seeing a CD, when in fact it is seeing the image. You can do this using programs such as MagicDisc by MagicISO (freeware).
Tricky one, ive you have a external usb cdrom drive , maybe, or if you can take hardrive out and set it up on another laptop install your xp and also place copy of all drivers required onto it, then put back into the toshiba., dont know what else could help you here. hope this helps in some way.

1.If you purchase an external USB CD drive you will not need to use your floppy discs for booting. 2. You can connect a USB CD drive to your system. 3. Your system will recognize any device plugged into your USB drive. 4. There is no CD drive available for internal installation in your computer. 5. With the USB CD drive plugged in and the windows installation disc inserted, your computer should take you through the setup program automatically.
