Hi, a vu meters is a coil with a magnetic field, if it is slowing to stop, probably the coil is to old and you have to calibrate it (specialist) the best for you: replace the vu meter.

Yamaha RX-V2700 no sound from any speaker outputs

Make sure that you have the correct input signal selected.
Also, check if the sound is not muted.
If you have a multi-room speaker switch, make sure it is set correctly to main speakers.

Onkyo TX-SR502 AV receiver

this could be the pre amp transistor or the power amp that needs replacing
the pre amp transistor is cheap but the power amp is not
if you did not crank it , then it is probably just the transistor that needs replacing

Hello, I've been having a problem with my JVC RX-D302B 7.1 Receiver. Whenever I try to power it on, the blue power light comes on for a moment, then it clicks off. I'm planning to take it to a repair...

Unit is going into protection mode because the amplifier output stage is shorted. Measure output voltage of the speaker lines coming out of each output channel...front/center/rear...take measurement before the channel speaker line protection relay. If any voltage is present then that is the output channel that is at fault. Replacement parts are available to the consumer through tritronicsinc.com. If you have experience with a volt meter\checking transistors\soldering it is something you can do. If not it should be left to a service shop. Have a great day!!

Have a Fender Twin 57 custom shop reissue, 18 months old, keeps blowing the mains fuse after approx 30/40 into a gig. Amp not overdriven, no external FX used

Hi debdenplace

Blowing fuses at gigs is not a very nice habit. I suspect that you need to retube the output stage. It is the most common cause of fuse blowing. Even though not being overdriven, the life you get out of output tubes relates to volume and time. The higher the levels, the more often they may need to be replaced. Go for the Groove Tube replacements if you can afford them GT6L6GE , but I use a gain matched pair of Sovtek Russian made Electro Harmonix ELH6L6EH in this type of amp. They cost about half as much, are designed with Fender style output stages in mind and do a great job.

Hello i have a tascam 244 which is a four track tape recorder it is quite old i have sent it to tascam to have it fixed before but now it is not working, the metre lights come on for each track and the tape...

Since there is movement in the meters, the heads are good. Look first for any cables or connectors that are loose. There is an "output" section in these that can fail. I don't recall whether this section is an IC or discrete components though. Check the cables and connectors and update this with what you find. I'll look up this model and find the output parts.

Stopped working

I had a similar problem with a jvc 8040. when I replaced the fuse it became very obvious that the b1560 output on the center channel was blown (smoke and sparks, always a dead giveaway). I haven't fixed the center channel yet but simply unplugged the center channel board and removed it from the unit. Now everything works fine except of course the center channel. Pre outs still operate just fine so a slave amp could be used for center channel power, or you could just go and buy a marantz amp; I did and then I realized that I was lucky that the old jvc quit.

No sound from my brand new speakers

I am assuming you have tried new speakers on used unit on both A & B choices. Have you tried your new speakers with old 2802? If they work OK with old unit, you have problem with amplifier in used unit. Take the used 2802 to a reputable shop and have it thoroughly tested. Perhaps it is just a loose connection.
